This is a story about a man named Dante who is trapped within his mind and must journey through the unimaginable.

As Dante took each step his burden became greater and greater, his hate grew stronger and stronger, and his sanity drifted farther and farther. If only he would have known then what he knows now…if only he knew that there was no meaning to life and we are not meant for anything. Although he wishes he could forget what he knows, he also knew there is nothing he could do now to change what he knew, nothing to save him from the truth.

Dante reached the top of the steps his burden was released and his memory erased…he felt almost as if it was never there. He looked around at the forest surrounding him and noticed its beauty. In the distance about 100 meters away Dante could see an enormous building. It too had incredible beauty and Dante could not help but to walk towards it and completely ignore the fact that he had no idea where, when, or why he was there. As he drew closer his appreciation for the beautiful forest and building grew weaker…but he was still powerfully drawn to it in fact, he began to obsess over it. As he arrived at the steps to the entrance of the building he noticed everything grew old and broken down…the forest was no longer full of life and the building was blackened and falling apart…yet he was still drawn to the building. He took the first step and he felt weaker…it felt as if another 20lbs were added to him. When he reached the top of the first flight of stairs his vision blurred and his burden became even worse. Words started to appear on each step as he took them, they read "Growing hatred becomes your burden".

Dante felt a pulsating pain shoot through his head and the image of a hooded figure came into his mind. Its voice repeated with growing anger "Growing hatred becomes your burden". With hideous torment the growing anger in the hooded figures voice became a screaming repetition of those words and Dante watched it draw a blackened sword. The figure thrusts the sword forward as if to hit something but nothing was there…then the pain became crippling as he fell to his knees and his vision blurred...Dante then fell unconscious.
