"So, does he have a name?"
He stared at me from across the room, beady eyes blinking once... twice. He gave no answer.
"Does 'Daddy' have a name?" I repeated, even though I'm fairly certain he heard and understood my previous query. Like before, he chose to keep mum. Curiously, he swung his head to the side as if scrutinizing me for a moment before hopping from his perch on my desk. I'm glad I tucked my things safely away earlier; he would have messed things up otherwise. He regarded me with those dark, dark eyes some more. Then, slowly, he padded off.
I stayed seated on my bed for a while longer, watching him make his way to the open door. I sat there listening to the sound of his soft, trudging footfalls. Finally deciding to see what he was up to, I stood up and shoved my hands in my pockets with light chuckle. I found him a few feet from the door, sniffing the air curiously. A thought hit me then. "Are you hungry?"
No answer. He opted to resume walking instead.
Ever since he was brought here for 'observation', I've been spending most of my time at home like this. I find it oddly entertaining. Talk to him (more like 'talk at him'), watch him, feed him, try and teach him things... stuff like that.
We made it to the living room where he decided to settle on the couch. I watched in mute amusement as the little guy tried climbing up the furniture with only a little difficulty. Finally, he managed. I sat down beside him. "If you're hungry, you can tell me."
Completely ignoring me, he proceeded to scan the room wearing his usual blank expression. I leaned back on the couch, training my gaze at the ceiling before closed my eyes. The cushion shifted and I felt him inch closer. Looking down, my blue eyes were met with the dark eyes of my companion; staring up at me... almost hopefully. I smiled and patted him lightly. He took that as an invitation to climb up my lap and get comfortable. He's pretty heavy but I've kind of gotten used to it already. Finally, one word from him: "Daddy," he declared in his foreign, garbled speech.
I looked down at him in mild surprise. "Yeah? Kog'maw?"
"Ezreal!"
I laughed. No, not me... but for now, I'll be your 'Daddy'.
