Sighing softly, he slid into bed, his garnet eyes closing as a warm, slender arm found its way across his chest. Soft lips caressed his flesh as they marked a path from his shoulder-blades to the back of his neck. Even the Dark Lord couldn't fight the shiver that ran down his spine and back up again. He just managed to bite back a moan as those supple lips found the shell of his ear, and the teeth hidden behind them followed.
"Someone's in a good mood," as relaxed as he was beginning to feel, he couldn't keep the edge from his voice. He winced inwardly. It wasn't the woman behind him that he was angry with, and yet it was always she that bore the brunt of his ire. She always did so without complaint, as though she had accepted that it was how things would be once they had married. It almost seemed as though she had resigned herself to it, but he knew differently. She did so because she, though he had always thought it impossible for any being to do so, cared for him. He was willing to say, though he would never admit it aloud, that she even loved him.
"Last I checked, you weren't complaining."
He still hadn't managed to figure out just how she managed to sound so much like a Siren, calling forth unsuspecting men to their demise, and still look and act like the most innocent of angels. She had always been one sort of mystery or another to him. He supposed it was one of the reasons he kept her so close. That, and the fact that she had managed to somehow worm her way into the hallowed space in his chest where any other man's heart would have been.
He grunted, and though it was an uncommon gesture for him, it work rather well in that instance. He could rarely find it within himself to argue any point with her when her hands roamed about beneath his shirt, and her lips about his neck. As loath as he was to admit it, the muggles did have one thing right. Opposites do, indeed, attract.
