Just a little OS about my new shiny couple, Casmund. Set in Prince Caspian.

Disclaimer: I own nothing. Not even Edmund's lamp torch.

Happy reading!

"Caspian."

The young king turned his head as he was getting ready to fight, his heart beating wildly in his rib cage. His armor felt heavy on his shoulders and his sword even more when he checked it for the millionth time. He was already sweating like he had run two kilometers and his hands were almost shaking. He was a king, right, he had no trouble fighting and being in wars, it was his instinct, that was what he was born for, but the stress just before the battle was far worst to handle than the wounds that came after. He looked around to see who was talking to him in the mess of the before-war preparation.

His heart beat increased a little bit more (if it was even possible at this time) when Caspian saw that it was Edmund The Just who was talking to him.

"King Edmund", he greeted him, but Edmund waved his hand, looking annoyed.

"Don't call me that, please. We are equals. Plus, I don't see why I would be called a King anymore. It's your turn to be, now."

Caspian blinked. The young king was talking like they've won the fight already.

"But, he said, his spanish accent getting more evident due to his stress, we haven't fought yet and you talk like we have-

"Like we have won?"

It was Edmund's turn to blink.

"Well, I don't see why the fight would turn bad for us."

Caspian half laughed. "I can see a hundred of reasons why the fight would turn in their favor."

Edmund titled his head to the left, looking at Caspian. Finally, he took a step forward:

"I suppose you're right."

And, after a short pause:

"Aren't you frighten for your life?"

Edmund was now really close, and all the stress symptoms were duplicate because of the Old King sudden closeness.

"I would likely say yes, he managed somehow to mumble, trying to stay focused on the conversation"

"Because… trailed off Edmund. Because I could watch after you. You know, checking if you're alright and everything. In case you get into some trouble."

Their eyes were locked for good, it seemed to Caspian.

"Well, he answered, whispering for an unknown reason, I would really appreciate such a thing. And, I could return the favor."

There was a silence in which both of them realized all the things unsaid, all the risks that they took, and that they were going to take, and, just like that, Edmund's lips were on Caspian's, their armors clinking lightly as the two men let their feelings talk maybe for the last time. All too soon, it was over and Edmund was already walking away.

"I got your back", Edmund said, and Caspian just blinked another time, not believing what has just happened.

"And I got yours", he whispered in an inaudible answer
