Prologue...
When I was a young boy, I use to want to be a bird. I wanted to be a bird, so I could fly back home. So I became friends with the birds, hoping they would except me. now I know it was a silly attempt to fly but--- if not for my liking of birds, I would have never gotten the chance to meet you. Thank you...for everything. You were my only friend; you have stayed with me even though it was not in your best interest. Thank you for being my friend. I will never forget you and when I become a bird, I will fly over you and protect you. I will watch from the skys and I will live on in your memories. Thank you.

The letter slipped from my hand. I was crying. I was crying from the loss of a friend. I knew know his wish had come true. He was a bird, flying high and he was headed home. The birds were his friends and he was mine. I rubbed off my tears with the back of my hand. His soaken letter lay damp on the hard, wood floor. The ink was now starting to smudge. I picked back up the paper and held it to my chest. His lovely words were still visible enough for me to read over again. I continued to cry, letting all my emotions flow right from me. If he were here right now, I would have been held by him. His coaxing words would have told me to cry, to let everything out, and so I cried in the empty room, pretending that the letter I held was him. I pretended I could feel his warmth, squeezing the paper even harder. At least I would have ever lasting memories of my dear friend.
After I had no more tears left to shed, I stood up. I looked over the bare room. Nothing was left of him. The next home owner would never know that a great man had once lived here. The memories with this house would simply dissappear over time. It saddened me to know that my friend had nothing left. He would return as a bird to find nothing of his. After he had died, the land owner had sold his belongings and even when I pleaded him to keep everything where it lay, he pushed me away. My friend was not important to this old man and that was what saddened me the most. Even though, he was important to me, in every way, I knew, that just because he had died, the world would not stop. It would continue to spin, acting like nothing happened. In the back of my mind, I also knew, that people across this planet had no idea that such a loss had befallen me. I would turn my back on this place. I would hold my head high and I would search the skys until I had finally found him. I would continue to search until my very last breath and then I would come back and coninue to search. I would search until I had found my friend; my lover.
