Passive

It's only because Albus used to be so passive.
That's probably why he always found himself tangled in these situations, like right now, as he stared upon the lifeless body that he could once recognize as the grounds caretaker. Now it was just another lifeless corpse, subject to Gellert's tactics.
But, it was for the greater good, so there wasn't really anything wrong with it.
Her children, and her children's children would all thank them one day.
Oh, wait.
It's also probably why he was yet again staring as Gellert held a thin gold chain between his fingers as he got that gleam in his eye that always made Albus a little bit nervous.
Because he didn't really know which side he was on anymore, if he even was on a side.
"Perfect." Gellert hissed appreciatley as he whisked passed Albus and out the oak front doors.
His feet were nailed to the ground though, even through his thick Wellington boots. He couldn't move, he hadn't really moved so much as an eyelash since Gellert had performed that spell and he watched the caretaker writhe in agony.
But the most part was that her eyes were still open, and he could see his reflection in her cloudy blue irises.
"Are you coming or not?" Gellert whispered as he leaned back into the doorway. His chestnut colored hair hit directly at his chin, shadowed his face and gave him that creepy look that always made Albus a little nervous.
He stepped further into the room, his hand shuffling around in his cloak pocket, trying to discard any evidence that there had even been a locket in there at all.
Albus shifted his eyes over to Gellert and nodded just slightly.
Gellert let out a mad breath.
"Oh come on, Albus!" He exclaimed as he threw an arm around Albus's thin shoulders.
His pale arm stretched out before them, imitating the motion of a marquee, and Albus couldn't really make out what he was trying to spell.
"These are just meager steps, all working up to the greater good. Think of it this way, years from now, no one's even going to miss her. Because they'll be dead, also."
He always said that, but Albus still hadn't figured out what it really meant.
