A/N: This is just a little poem that demonstrates Charlie's point of view (as well as my own) on subject like telepathy, mind reading, etc. It's not my best poem, but I did my best to try and illustrate the fear that I believe exists behind our claims that everything can be explained by science. Coming from a skeptic, I can honestly tell you that the thought that science may not be able to explain everything truly is scary. My mind just cannot accept that there may be other explanations, and I believe Charlie feels the same way. So, here's my poem, I hope you enjoy it! Please R&R, it means a lot to me! Oh, and Mother will return, I just took it off so I could get some work done on it. I'm sorry, but the way I had it, I couldn't get it to go anywhere. Please be patient with me! Thank you so much for your understanding!
Fact Vs. Fiction
The world
around us
what a
cold and frightening place
that's
why we cling to out beliefs
it
preserves the human race.
So who is
right and who is wrong
which idea
will withstand
surely we
would turn to logic
to explain
what we don't understand.
But, why
then, if that were true
do some
feel the need
to turn to
other explanations
that make
no sense to me?
These
things without scientific fact
ghosts,
aliens, or telepathy
even tarot
or fortune-telling
how is
that to be believed?
These are
things I can't accept
or even
start to comprehend
that must
be why I look for logic
and cling
to it like a drowning man.
Why is it
that those are things
that I
just can't believe?
Could it
be that deep inside
those
ideas frighten me?
If science
can't explain it all
then were
do the limits lie?
To allow
something else to explain
is
something that I cannot try.
I will
stick to my opinion
you can
all keep yours
and this
debate will go on,
perhaps
forever more.
