Only an hour until I was suppose to see my sister. We haven't talked since the thing with Red John happened. I was trying to keep her safe, but she said it was important and she wasn't going to back down. So now we are going to meet at some restaurant down the road from the CBI. She was 15 years younger than me so we didn't spend much time together as kids. That didn't stop me from being the protective older brother though.
The car ride there was like hell. What if something bad happened? She never asked for anything no matter how badly she needed it. Finally I pulled into a parking spot outside of the restaurant. Walking inside I saw her sitting at one of the tables. She looked up and quickly wiped off her cheeks. She tried to smile, but I knew that she was crying. "Hey Payton," I whispered softly. Her eyes glazed over as she tried to fight back her tears again. "Pat I'm pregnant and the father left me." This time the tears broke free and rolled down her cheeks. She looked so lost sitting there. I didn't even know what to say I never saw her like this before. "Do you need money?" God I was terrible at this whole comforting sibling thing. Payton raised her hand looking as if she was going to wipe her tears, but instead she hit me. The pain instantly spread across my face. "You are such a bastard. I am not looking for a hand out, just a little support." She jumped up from her seat and stormed out of the restaurant.
