-Chapter One-
"Charlotte Dawn Winter!" A loud voice came crashing through the autumn atmosphere around the wooden swing. The eighteen year old was taken from her day-dreaming by her mother's screams. It had been three months since they had moved to Forks. No, the girl hadn't been to the school yet – but why did she need to go? The girl had already been to five different schools, two of them while she was still 'alive'. But, her 'mother' had told her the reason. They were to appear as normal as they was the first day at the local school. "Coming mother." Her voice called back, stopping the swinging motion and moving away from the backyward. Picking up her ebony back from the porch, the girl waved to her mother in the window and slipped into her car.
Driving to the school, Charlotte sang along with the music that blasted it's way through-out the car. Killing the engine when the silver car parked itself in the parking lot, the girl stepped out of her car and looked around. Grabbing her bag from the backseat, a pale hand ran through her brown hair and the doors were locked. "Well, here goes nothing." She spoke quietly to herself.
All of a sudden, a red sports car flashed passed her. That was the Cullens. However Charlotte didn't know who they were, nor did she know about their secret. No-one did. Watchinig – her face with the simple emotion of awe struck – her liquid brown eyes watched as two brunette males and a brunette woman, were accompanied by a blonde haired man and a blonde haired female. Charlotte could tell that four of these five were together. The blonde male didn't seem to have a partner. The tall, thin, brunette male seemed to go with the small, thin, brunette female. The tall, muscular, brunette male seemed to go with the tall, thin, blonde. The other simply looked like he was the odd one out of the group. But Charlotte thought that he was the best looking one out of the lot. Obviously his girlfriend would have to be inside. Little did she realise, that this small group of beautiful people, were infact vampires like herself. She never classed herself as beautiful, so she didn't know.
Stepping closer to the students, Charlotte could have sworn that they heard her, as all of them turned around. All except the blonde male. However soon he too turned around, when it looked like one of his brothers had spoken and motioned towards her. "This is bad.. they're going to think I'm some sort of weirdo for staring." Running as fast as she could, Charlotte moved passed the beautiful people and in-through the doors of the school. "So much for a nice first day." She breathed.
