Being part human, Genos did occasionally get sick. Genos' internal organs were mostly intact, if not rearranged to fit neatly inside the upper torso of his cybernetic body. Any food eaten was turned into 100% pure energy, without waste. What this meant was that Genos has a human stomach and food poisoning was a very real problem.

Bringing home monster-acquired kombu soup stock hadn't been one of Saitama's brightest ideas. To be fair, Saitama ate the kombu without any adverse effects, but the same couldn't be said for Genos.

The latter was currently retching up the remains of the Kombu soup and some sort of midnight blue bile.

"Sai… tama," Genos said weakly.

"Hey," Saitama replied, kneeling down beside to Genos. Genos' cybernetic body was currently overheating. If the cyborg had been human, Saitama would have said that the man had a fever. Maybe this was a cybernetic fever?

When Genos tried to stand up, he lost his traction and fell straight into Saitama's arms. Loss of balance, overheating body and impaired sensatory systems.

"Just let him rest and give his cybernetic systems time to reset." Dr. Kuseno said over the phone.

Saitama sighed, absently running a hand through Genos' blonde hair. "Is that all? He doesn't need like, water or anything? And what was with that strange blue bile he was throwing up?"

"Oh, don't worry about that. That's normal for him," the man brushed it off. "I'll swing by tomorrow for a diagnosis just in case."

A series of warning beeps alarmed in the background over the phone.

"Ah!" Dr. Kuseno yelled. "The oven! I have to go. I'll see you tomorrow."

Click.

Beep. Beep. Beep.

At least talking to Dr. Kuseno was never boring.

Saitama laid Genos down in their shared futon. Genos looked pained, suffering from an unseen opponent, and the only thing that seemed to calm him down was Saitama's hand lightly caressing the cyborg's forehead. His lover kept an iron hold on Saitama's other hand.

"You'll be better in no time, Genos," Saitama said. "Just go to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up."

"Sensei…" Genos replied, nuzzling Saitama's hand as it traced the shape of Genos' jaw and facial structure. The cyborg's systems eventually powered down.

This was the first and last time Saitama used Kombu for soup stock. Just in case.
