It was a cold and rainy day, where a young man with dark charcoal hair and obsidian eyes hidden beneath a pair of dark sunglasses sat in the far back corner of the café while holding a hot mocha latte, and taking sips every so often the bell would ring as a customer entered into the café. The young men stared absent mindedly out the window as the rain drops pelted on the window in rhythmic taps on the thick glass window separating him from the cold outside world, while people ran for cover under the rain or were sheltered under their umbrellas.

Just then at the sound of the bell another customer entered into the café. He listen to the cashier ask her if she wanted the usual, followed by the ding of the cashier machine. The woman got her drink and sat down on the table in front of him. He vaguely saw the woman's order, a green tea matcha. She too was staring out the window as he was doing previously. Simply observing the passing people as they rushed to get some shelter or hurry home under the umbrella.

This was not the first time that the young man has seen this woman before. He was a frequent visitor of the café, especially on rainy days like this where the water poured down from the heavens with no remorse towards the people running below. He enjoyed watching the people pass by, as ran to seek shelter, or simply pass by. The young children clad in their rain coats and bright colored rain boots holding hands with their parents crossing the streets. Or the business men clad in their trench coats with their uniformed black umbrellas waiting for a taxi or bus going home from work.

But this woman intrigued him; she had bright green eyes with soft pink hair and a fair completion. She came alone on most days, or with a loud blond woman with sparkling blue eyes who appeared to be the pink haired girl's friend. He often over heard the blond girl tell her pink haired friend about her boyfriend who loved to cloud gaze, work, or other random girly stuff. When he took a glance towards their table he would simply see the pink haired girl give expressions, but he never quite heard her laugh. He just assumed that her laughter was very soft and so he couldn't hear it over the loud buzz of the other café customers.

But she just sat there today taking sips from the matcha, watching the people pass by. The young man decided that today he would hear this girl's voice. He slowly stood up from his chair, cringing at the loud screeching noise that the chair made as it dragged across the floor. He moved and took a seat that the pink haired girl's table.

The girl was startled at first and offered him a calm gentle smile which he nodded in reply. Then she continued to stare out the window. They both sat there in comfortable silence where no words were exchanged; instead they both listened to the soft pelts of the rain against the window and the occasional ding of the bell when customers would enter the café.

After what felt like minutes, a chair slid, and the pink haired girl got up and was about to leave. But the young man quickly grabbed her hand before she left. The girls stood startled with her big green eyes widening in shock. After letting go of the girl's hand, he quickly asked for her name. As he waited in anticipation of her response he felt his face heat from embarrassment. The girl was silent for a while staring at him as if she was judging his character and his intentions.

She quietly whispered her name… Sakura… Sakura Haruno

Where the young man simply replied with his own name… Sasuke Uchiha.
