Five futures that never came to pass

1. Cameron Mitchel never became head of the SGC. At first he thought it was what he wanted but soon he realised that he didn't really want the responsibility.

Even if he had wanted it, it was down to him and Sam and everyone knew that Sam would get the job. She had lead the Atlantis base after all. And, when it came down to it, she really knew more about the Stargate than anyone.

Cameron Mitchel was happy to stay in control of SG-1.

2. Daniel Jackson never got another book published. Everything he was confident to write about was classified and so, if he ever did write a book, he wouldn't be allowed for it to leave the base.

Daniel wrote some papers for new recruits and did some instructional videos, but books were off the agenda.

3. Vala never got a house off the base. She had meant to, but never got around to it. As it happened, she liked staying on the base. She enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the base, but also that she could retire to her room and ahve complete privacy. She liked having people round about her. She didn't think that she would enjoy staying on her own, even although she used to.

4. Cassie never joined the SGC. She always thought that she would join, even as a consultant or something but, as she got older, she realised that she wanted to be what her mother was. She studied medicine and became one of the top Doctor's in the country.

Her mother never lived to see it.

5. Sam never got married. She had thought she would at some point but, it turned out that she was happy with 2 kids and a house and a partner whom she had loved for the past 10 years. As far as she was concerned, she was with Jack and that was all that really mattered. After all, they had already been married on a few planets without knowing it, so what was one more ceremony?
