Summary: Bikky thinks about his relationship with Ryo.

Father Figure

The day that Bikky first met Ryo would be the day he'd never forget.

After his father's murder when he was ten years old, Ryo was simply the kind-hearted Officer Randy MacLean from Criminal Investigations who offered him hot chocolate and a shoulder to cry on. Within an instant from that meeting, Officer MacLean became Ryo – his surrogate father figure. Ryo did everything to help Bikky walk the right path – gave him a home, the strict discipline that was desperately needed (which included several smacks across the head), protected him from potential danger, made sure that he got an education, and gave him valuable advice as his friendship with Carol blossomed into a romance.

Bikky considered these things; he realised that Ryo was more than a father figure – he was his father. Bikky no longer considered himself as Bikky Goldman, the son of the deceased Dick Goldman...he was Bikky MacLean, the son of Randy "Ryo" MacLean. Ryo has been his father for the last seven years. Bikky knew that there wasn't anything he could do that would be enough to thank Ryo for everything he's done.

As Bikky opened the door to the apartment that he shared with Ryo, he heard a very familiar sound from when he was ten. "Aaaaaahhh! Dee! Cut it out, you horndog! Hey! I told you to get your hands out of my pants!" Acting on instinct, Bikky resorted to the same tactic that worked seven years ago and every day since then; barge the door open, give Dee a swift quick, and leaving a shoe imprint on Dee's face – but most importantly, keeping him away from Ryo. This time, the shoe imprint was left on Dee's face, chest, and his back. This is what I'm meant to do...my way of thanking dad for everything he's done for me...Bikky thought. My way to show dad how much he means to me is to protect him from that creepy old codger of a perverted loser Dee!

Author's Note: I love Bikky; he's awesome...especially when he kicks Dee for getting too fresh with Ryo.
