A/N: Companion to "The Best Girlfriend." Intro's a bit rough, but I hope you enjoy it.

Annabeth wasn't sure why Katie Gardner had asked her about the qualities that made Percy a good boyfriend—in fact, she couldn't believe that she was coming to her for any romantic inquires at all—but when she actually paused to think about it, she had to admit that Percy Jackson actually wasn't a good boyfriend… He was the best boyfriend.

When she relayed this back to the brunette, she rolled her eyes as if expecting love-struck Annabeth to say something like that. "Okay, well, what makes a boy 'the best boyfriend'?"

Annabeth being Annabeth, a highly logical and intellectual girl, began forming a list in her head.

The best boyfriend…

1 – Tugs his girlfriend's curls teasingly.

2 – Winks at her.

3 – Blushes and stammers when she flirts but quickly gets better. (She almost misses it but decides it's better this way when he initiates one of their heavier make-out sessions.)

4 – Hesitates the first time he kisses her neck (but quickly learns just how much she enjoys it) as if asking permission.

5 – Rests his forehead against hers and can simply gaze into her eyes for an extended period of time without getting jumpy. (It's a great feat considering their ADHD.)

6 – Falls asleep with his head in her lap on lazy summer afternoons at camp.

7 – Sends her secret smiles across the dining hall at dinner.

8 – Holds hands with her whenever possible but also enjoys—just as much as she does—having his arm around her.

9 – Engages her in tickles fights. (While slightly unfair and cruel, they give her the perfect opportunity to let him get used to having her under him.)

10 – Gets embarrassed when he accidentally brushes her chest of her thigh because that's just how gentlemanly he is.

11 – Is denied access to her lips for a certain number of weeks, thank to school, and ends up forcing the small of her back against the counter and kissing the life out of her until someone comes into the kitchen and interrupts them. (Annabeth's not sure she'll ever be able to look Mrs. Blofis in the eye again.)

12 – Caresses her neck soothingly.

13 – Kisses the top of her head.

14 – Doesn't laugh when she tries moaning at something he does and her voice ends up cracking. (Instead, he's even more turned on.)

15 – Gives great shoulder massages.

16 – Compliments her often.

17 – Knows exactly how to make her melt in his arms (and uses the techniques when he needs homework answers).

But it isn't the fact that he knows how to flirt or that he feels comfortable enough with her to fall asleep next to her. There was something even more important than his passion, his skilled fingers and his kind words. Because even though she loved how he kissed and how he made her feel like she was the most beautiful girl in the world, she loved even more the fact that he…well…he…

18 – Tells he loves her whenever he can because he means it.

A/N: I'm kind of stuck in Writer's Block as far as "Just Another Romance Novel" goes but I hope to get the new chapter up by this weekend. Sorry!
