Summary: Crying together made them realize that they had a lot more in common with each other than they thought.
Pairing: Winry Rose
Genre: Friendship
Spoilers: Manga chapter 81- Fired Up
When Winry met Rose, she was only a little bit jealous. The way that Rose talked about Ed was enough to get any girl envious. But it was when Rose said that Winry was 'their savior's savior' that she started to get a good view of Rose.
Rose told her about how she followed Leto, believing that the Church would be able to revive her dead boyfriend. She spoke about how Ed and Al discovered the lies behind the church; about how they almost got killed.
Winry knew that Ed and Al had a life outside of Resembool; she knew that very well. When she heard the stories, she cried. Rose cried with her. They were teenage girls, almost young women, living in a world that would be destroyed on the Promised Day. They had to fight and survive on their own, no matter how many people were surrounding them. But at that moment, they were something else. They were simply girls; girls who had fallen in love; who knew how Death's fingers felt. They had hopes and dreams and they had to come down to reality after a certain time. Between the two of them, there were enough things to fill a thousand lives.
Crying together made the two stronger though. Winry was prepared for a land that only held memories and Rose was prepared for a fight worse than anything any human could imagine.
Crying together made them realize that they had a lot more in common with each other than they thought. From that moment on, both would not cry. They would wait until they saw the other before spilling their tears.
I love Rose. I'm not a Rose-fan-who-hates-Winry nor am I a Winry-fan-who-hates-Rose. Rose, Rose, Rose!! Rose and Winry don't hate each other; they get along fine in chapter 81. This shows another insight into it. Thanks for reading! Please press the purple button!
