Author's Note: I know I haven't written a KH fic in awhile, so this might be a little bad.  I was rewatching the ending cinematic and came up with an idea for a short Cloud/Aerith fic.  This is a spoiler to those who haven't finished the game.  Nothing bad, just sweet fluff.  I got a Leon/Yuffie one in the works.  Enjoy and leave your comments.

"Emeralds and Sapphires"            By Videl: Warrior Princess

"So…everything's going to be like it was before?" Yuffie asked, looking up at Leon.  He leaned back against the bookshelf, folded his arms, closed his eyes, and nodded.

"Yes.  Everything's returning to normal.  All those lost shall return home…" Leon answered.  Yuffie seemed happy about his reply, but…she wasn't…

The usually cheerful Aerith only faintly smiled back while her thoughts dwelled on that statement.  "Will they all be able to return home?  Will he return?  Will he come back to me?" she frantically thought.

"Hey, Aerith!" Cid called from behind them.  She turned around, wit a happy grin on her face, trying to look cheery again for everyone.  "I've got somethin' for ya!"

"What is it, Cid?" she kindly asked, as Yuffie turned to look at the inventor carefully and as Leon opened his eyes.

"Why don't you come over here and find out?" he laughed.  Curious, Aerith slowly began to walk to him, her small smile still on her face.

He silently gulped.  How was he going to do this?  He was so nervous; he was about ready to shake.  Even facing Hades wasn't as nerve-racking as this.  After all this time, he would get to see her smile.  Finally, after all this time, she would be there in front of him, in person, not just another image from a dream.  Cid moved out of the way, and his heart nearly stopped beating.

"Guess what I found?" Cid replied, fighting back a smile.  He stepped off to the side.

Aerith's eyes went wide with shock; never in her life did she think she was ever so surprised.  For a moment, she could've sworn her heart stopped beating when she saw him.  There, before her, stood the light of her life, her love, Cloud Strife.  A happy, wide smile spread across her face as tears of joy filled in her eyes, making them sparkle with emotion.  This had to be a dream; this was too good to be real.

Slowly, the two stepped forward, until they were about an arm's length away, if it was even that.  Frozen by fear and spellbound by her, Cloud just stood there, standing straight, looking at her.  Aerith only smiled lovingly as she held her hands behind her back and bent down to look at him, since the collar of his cape was a little too high and covered his mouth almost.

His eyes… His eyes were the same enchanting deep blue as they were when she first met him.  It was him.  He was here.  Cloud had finally come back.

Cloud looked back, still too shy and nervous to talk.  He couldn't keep up with the number of heartbeats, his heart was pounding so fast.  Then, he gazed into her eyes and got lost in them.  They were so beautiful; he couldn't stop staring at them.  Oh, how he missed her.

"Cloud…"

"Aerith…"

He opened his arms, and she dove right in.  He wrapped his arms around her shoulders, while she wrapped hers around his chest.  They held each other in a close, protective, loving, comforting, and gentle embrace.  She buried her face into his warm chest, silently having a couple of tears slide down her cheeks from being so happy, and he rested his head on top of hers, inhaling her sweet scent of a intoxicating flavor he could never name.  They never spoke a word; they had no need to.  The pounding and thudding of their hearts was enough to say, "I love you."  After what seemed like a lifetime, they pulled back, still holding onto each other's arms though, and looked each other in the eye, smiling at each other lovingly.

And they were staring into a sea made of emeralds and sapphires.
