THE PROM
It should have been a happy night for the girl.
Briscoe walks up the path to the front door. He meets eyes with Green. How many times have they done this now? Do numbers even go that high?
The girl was dressed in a beautiful dress, immaculate hair and nails, so much effort poured into one special night. A night that should have been one of her happiest memories. Now she has no more memories.
Green presses the doorbell. A pleasant faced, modestly dressed woman answers. "Yes?"
"Mrs. Kelly?" Briscoe shows his badge. "I'm Detective Briscoe. It's about your daughter."
