Author's Note: hi guys! Just a short drabble based off Brad Paisley's song "Then". I don't own Ouran ?. TamaHaru forever!
Tamaki remembered trying not to stare (or rival a tomato) when he realized Haruhi was a girl.
It took some time ( and her chasing him in a carriage), but he finally found the courage to ask her out. Thankfully her father was working that night because if he had known that basement 45 minutes kissing good night, Tamaki probably wouldn't have her live to see this day.
He hadn't been able to say the words yet, but he was pretty sure he loved her.
Tamaki remembered taking Haruhi back to the third music room a year after she had graduated. She had worked so hard and was going to not only graduate law school early, but at the top of her class.
He figured she needed a day to relax, and her birthday was a perfect excuse.
He remembers have surprised she was when he opened the door to all their friends and family shouting "Happy Birthday!"
After all the presents were opened and the cake was eaten, he knew it was time.
Even with all the others around, Tamaki didn't care.
And when he got down on one knee, all he saw was her.
As Tamaki stood with the officiant waiting for Haruhi to make her entrance, he smiled when he thought of all the times he said he loved her.
Yes he saw her the lead up the IL on Ramka's arm, he saw their future pass before his eyes.
He could just imagine her carrying their child.
He could see them growing old together.
What he couldn't imagine was loving her anymore than he did in this moment.
But he had thought that before.
