Hey guys! Average Mailman, delivering another one shot. The updates will slow down a bit but we should have one up by Monday, Tuesday by the latest.
Pokemon: Red's Last Battle
It was cold on top of the mountain. The blizzard was raging around Red, relentless in its attack on the mountain, as he waited for a challenger. In the distance, he could see a shape, giving encouragement to his pokemon. His mouth moving but the sound being blocked by the howling wind. Not many dared to venture up Mt. Silver, as 70% of the reported people going into the mountain has disappeared. They had all tried and failed. He waited patiently for the trainer to make it up to him. After all, it had been three months since a trainer had made it up here, why not wait a little longer?
"My name is Trainer Gold! I challenge you to a pokemon battle!" The boy named Gold shouted. He hailed from New Bark town. The Johto Regions pride trainer. Red watched him, before a small smile appeared on his face, and they both raised a pokeball. Red's face became a devoid of emotion as they both readied themselves for battle.
"Go!" They shouted in unison as the pokeballs revealed the pokemon.
The battle was hard fought, neither opponents relenting in their struggles to overcome the other trainer. Eventually it came down to two pokemon. Starter vs Starter. Fire vs Lightning. Typhlosion vs Pikachu. Red vs Gold. And only one pokemon stood tall, bruised and battered from the harsh winds and brutal attacks of the other pokemon. Red raised his pokeball and recalled his Pikachu, his final pokemon. Red, the Champion of Kanto, who had completed the Kanto Pokedex, undefeated trainer of Mt. Silver, and Pokemon Master, had lost to an eleven year old kid from Johto, who had been on his journey for less than a year. He looked up and saw Gold and his Typhlosion hugging each other. He smiled, a smile that was both happy and sad. But he felt whole. He felt complete. Red watched as the kid came down from his euphoria and turned towards him after recalling his pokemon. Gold walked over to his opponent, who was standing on an edge of the cliff, a little skip in his step, to receive the customary pokedollars for winning. Red shook his hand, placing the money into his possession, and smiled, not a fake or a small one, but a full blown grin.
"Congratulations, Pokemon Master Gold." Gold opened his mouth to thank him, but before he could, Red leaned backwards and fell of the edge of Mt. Silver. The last thing he saw before he closed his eyes was Gold's face turning from confused to horrified as he fumbled for his Togetic to try to catch Red, before realizing it had fainted in his battle with Red. His face was one of disbelief, as he watched his idol fall until he disappeared from sight..
