Authors Note: Its shorter than I would have liked, but I think it turned out pretty well. It sort of turned into a Neville oneshot towards the end, but I tried to incorporate more of Luna :) Hope you enjoy.

Missing Scene in Last HP Movie

Neville ran through the destroyed corridors, searching the faces for the only one he wanted to see. He found her relatively quickly, and couldn't stop the smile from enveloping his features. "Luna!" he called out and she quickly turned her blue eyes to him.

"Oh, hello Neville." She smiled, and he almost melted as she said his name.

"I-uh, I have something to t-tell you." He stated, sounding nervous as he began to stutter. Luna just kept that smile on him, tilting her head in curiosity.

"Yes Neville?" she asked, prompting him to continue.

He took a calming breath, drawing on one last ounce of courage before looking back at her. "I really like you…. Like, really like you. And I was hoping, after the battle, that we could, I don't know, hang out sometime?" Neville asked hopefully, surprised at how calm and unwavering his voice was.

Luna beamed, "I would love too, thank you." She agreed, and he nearly leaped for joy.

"Really? Awesome!" he grinned, running a quick hand through his dark hair. This almost seemed too easy for him. If he had know she would say yes, he would've asked her during the DA meetings. She had been nice to him then, so she most likely would've had the same response. Then again, he was a lot more skittish during that year… He probably would've fainted after asking.

That's when they heard Voldemort speaking to the school, and Neville could hardly believe his ears. He and Luna looked at each other, obviously sharing the same remorse for their dear friend Harry, who had apparently sacrificed himself for them and the school.

"We should probably get to the courtyard…" he said quietly, no longer happy about he and Luna's new status. He would have time to be excited about that, but now it was time for him to fulfill his promise to harry. It was time for him to kill Nagini.

Luna nodded in agreement, at a loss for words after hearing the news. Neville gave her his best reassuring smile, taking her small hand in his as he led her to the courtyard, sorting hat in hand.

Things were different now; they could no longer rely on Harry Potter to save them. With a silent sigh, Neville began to remember Harry before the battle, how kind he had always been… Harry didn't care who your parents were, who your friends were, or even who you were. He liked being around people who were real, not fake. That's what everyone loved about him. Neville glanced at Luna, who was still silent though her eyes were bright from the tears she was fighting to conceal.

He would do this for Harry, for Luna, and for his parents who had done everything to stop Voldemort. He wanted to make them proud; he wanted to make Luna proud to say she knew him. Rolling his shoulders, he prepared himself for what was about to come. Squeezing Luna's hand lightly as they stepped into the light of the destroyed courtyard.
