Plushie
Really, I felt like crap. I was freezing, even though it was twenty two degrees in my basement apartment, my nose was all stuffed and my throat felt sour. It hadn't surprised me if I had sky high fever too…
I had caught a cold, simply. But it was hell so annoying! I had probably gotten it yesterday when I had been out walking with my girlfriend. Big, wet snowflakes had started to fall all of a sudden and I had gotten soaked before we were home again. She had been smarter than me and had been wearing a jacket.
It knocked on my door and I winced as I had to get up from the sofa where it just had gotten warm. I wrapped my blanket around me and went to open.
"Hi Reno!" my girlfriend greeted and then seemed to notice how I looked. I was only dressed in loose pyjama pants, a big tee and a pair of woolly socks.
"You look terrible"
"Feel terrible too, yo" I said and got a fit of coughing.
"Then what are you standing around for? You should be in bed!" She started pushing me towards my bedroom. I didn't mind. Going back to bed didn't sound bad at all. Then something struck me and I winced silently again. I glanced at the girl behind me as I put myself back into bed. She was too busy making sure I felt comfy, that she didn't notice my moogle plushie I quickly covered with my blanket, thank God!
"Now, you just lay still and I'll fix you some tea." She said in a motherly kind of way.
"Thanks babe." She headed out to my small kitchen and I curled up under my blanket, listening to the sounds she made. It felt really comforting to be nursed by her like this.
I must have slumbered off, because I woke up by getting my shoulder gently shaken. My girlfriend's face smiled at me as I cracked an eye open.
"Here's your tea" she said and handed me a mug. I sat up and took it. Her mouth fell open when I did.
"Is that…a moogle?" she asked. I looked down, and realized that I was hugging my moogle plushie.
"Yeah" I answered, sipping my tea and not bothering to make up an excuse for it. She chuckled and leaned in and kissed my forehead.
"You really are a strange fella" I smirked and sipped my tea again.
"Yeah, I am, yo."
