Rattling chains and shuffling could be heard in a dark room far away from civilisation. In a giant cage sat a boy, his orange hair a mess and brown eyes drooping desperately tried to unshackle the metal bindings on his legs, his black crow-like wings flapping harshly. To no avail. He had lost count of how many days, or even weeks he's been in this hell hole. He rested his head against the metal bars of the cage as he started to silently cry. He didn't want to be here, he wanted be free again with his fellow half crow friends and family. As he sat there sobbing, the door to the dark room opened silently, a tall male coming into the nightmarish room. He slowly walked over to the large metal trap. He slipped a hand through the bars and ruffled the smaller boys hair.

"What's wrong little crow?" he questioned in a monotone voice.

The ginger flinched from the sudden touch and voice, but refused to make a sound. The larger male narrowed his golden brown eyes. He grabbed the smaller male by his fragile wings harshly.

"Answer me, Shouyou." he said harshly, yanking on the black feathered wings.

The boy let out a scream from the pain surging from his back.

"N-nothing…agh…K-Kei…" Shouyou responded weakly, afraid of getting hurt even more.

The blonde smirked and released the poor boy, petting his head.

"Was that so hard?" Kei questioned, awaiting an answer.

The orange haired crow shook his head no in response, wanting to please his captor, so no more pain would be received.

The blonde nodded and started heading towards the door. Before exiting, he turned around towards the large cage and said:

"Don't make a single sound. We have guests. If you're a good little crow, I'll bring you something to eat." Kei said before leaving, shutting the door behind himself.

All Shouyou could do was sit and sob into his knees. Why did he leave his nest that day?
