Summary - This was totally inspired by one of Reni's stories and by my husband and brother. I see so much of them in Ronon.
They had recently arrived in the village. It was another of those goodwill missions. Jennifer was to run a health clinic for the people in the area. Ronon checked the security - again. AT-1 had just been there the week before trading and furthering good will. Anyway, as soon as Ronon started looking bored, the children came. It was like something out of The Pied Piper or something. Ronon let himself be drug up to the nearby grassy hill.
Jennifer just smiled. There was so many things she loved about Ronon. His courage, his brashness, his independence, his bad boy persona, his strength - and not just his muscles. But what truly made her heart melt was his way with the children. It was the same everywhere they went. In every single village, the children all flocked around Ronon.
The tiniest ones climbed into his arms and either peered at his dreads or promptly fell asleep secure in his arms. The older children seemed to think he was a giant jungle gym to climb. He indulged them with lifting them up to touch the sky. Still older ones, boys in particular, recognized him for the warrior he was and begged him for lessons on how to shoot or fight. There was always an hour or so most morning set aside for this. The girls recognized him for the total hottie that he was and blushed whenever he looked their way and favored them with a smile.
Jennifer sighed. For a man who growled and grunted as much as he did, he sure had a marshmallow center when it came to kids. She sometimes wondered if he was like this before. On Sateda. Or if this was a more recent development. Either way, it put thoughts in her head. Thoughts like 'How would he be with their children?' Like 'What would their children look like?'
Foolish thoughts. That's what they were. She didn't even know for sure if he was interested in her. Let alone interested enough for kids.
Still, she looked up to that grassy hill outside the village and saw Ronon and all the kids rolling down the hillside. It seemed such an innocent thing to be doing. But really, was there a better way to enjoy the warm sunshine? Well, around kids anyways. She could think of some other things they could be doing.
She took one last long look up that grassy hill and promised herself to find out if he were interested in playing with his own children someday.
A/N Reviews are wonderful! They're almost as good as mint chocolate chip ice cream! Pretty please!
