White knight
A/N: so recently i've binged all of svtfoe and gotten really in to the show so decided why not because i already have this account.( i don't own the show yada yada )
It was a decently quiet evening in the kingdom of Mewni, or at least as quiet as it could was practicing in one of the many courtyards waiting for her best friend and squire to return from explaining to his parents and unborn brother about all his recent exploits including his run in with heckapoo. Star was blasting dummies with her wand when her boyfriend tom emerged from a nearby carriage.
"Hey,star.." tom shouted from the other side of the large outdoor area.
"Hey tom!" she replied with her usual energy and ran over to the demon boy.
"you wanna go get one of those goblin dogs with me?" He asked with a smirk and a thumb over his shoulder. She frowned and her friendly smile dropped to a frown before denying, "nah, i think i'm gonna wait for marco to return from earth."
At that very moment before tom could respond with jealousy, the sound of a portal opening caught their attention.A boy in a red hoodie emerged from the blue swirl and ran his hand through his brown hair before calling back through the portal "bye mom!, Bye dad! Love ya!"
Star stalked up to him with tom slowly strolling behind her, she then punched his shoulder,
"Oww what the he-" he whined before being cut off.
" there you are you had me worried, and i needed you to do things for me"
"Well sorry for spending time with my family" he responded with a scowl
" it shouldn't have taken you that long to recount a few weeks and small adventures"
"Don't forget the sixteen years of my life where i spent trying to get my scissors! Also i needed talk to other people who i figured needed an update, ( she does know that she isn't the only person i interact with right?) and lastly, you said i could take as much time as i needed…" he spoke in a clear and loud voice.
Star gave him a hurt look causing him to to apologize for his small outburst. he waved them both off walking toward the entrance of the castle,
" marco wait, me and tom where gonna get hot dogs, did you want to come with?"
" No, as good as that sounds i think i'm gonna hit the hay, skating with jackie really took it out of me ya know?" he smiled as star felt a tiny pang of jealousy hearing that the two former partners hung out while he was on earth.
"Wait you talked to jackie? I thought you two broke up?"
Marco gave her an odd look before explaining that you can still be friend with people you break up with.
"G'night star, just tape the stuff you want me to do on my door and i'll do it in the morning."
"So star you still wanna go?" tom asked with high hopes.
She blinked before remembering offering marco to go with them but now she had a sudden disinterest in hanging out with tom.
"actually i think i'm gonna got to bed as well" she said with a fake yawn. Mabey she should be hanging around marco more instead of sending him to the laundry room every day. With that tom frowned before walking to his carriage and sinking into the ground. Star just watched where he left blankly and proceeded to walk towards her room.
Meanwhile marco sat on his bed and looked at stars tower. 'Why am i even here?' he asked himself. 'Because star needs a friend' he smiled before taking off his shirt and going to the shower. In the small amount of time that he'd been there he had started to build a noticeable amount of muscle. Shure he was still fairly skinny but he could pull neat feats of strength like lifting carriages and carts so people could get things and what not.
He'd also beat all the squires in combat and even some he was becoming noticed around the kingdom for doing miscellaneous tasks and settling disputes in his free time.
After todays running away star felt the need to check up on him. She didn't want to seem clingy so she decided to use the eye to spy on him. After using the incantation she immediately went bright red seeing him in the shower whistling. She wanted to look away but couldn't feeling quite hot.
The teenage boy felt his spine chill and looked around before peeking out behind the curtain and nervously asking "hello?"
Star snapped out of her trance and then got mad at herself for acting like that.
"You can't act like that you have tom now!, but he's so cute, no stop that!"
She released a loud scream that filled the whole castle into her pillow.
"I'm so confused" she pouted and just then there was a loud banging at the door followed by a loud voice.
"Star you okay in there?" marco said before entering with his eyes closed. "As star butterfly's squire im am using my right to enter her room to come to her aid! Star you okay?" he entered with his sword drawn to see star crying on the pillow. He sheathed his sword before walking over to her. " i was in the shower when i heard you scream"
She sat up and her face was red and puffy. So , marco sat on her bed "Marco have you ever had a huge crush on someone while being with someone? I mean i'm asking for a friend"
"No not really" he lied through his teeth which star somehow bought.
But if i had id say to tell your friend to do what her heart feels." she looked at him before smiling weakly.
"Thanks for that" she then pulled im in for a hug. " why do you think its a girl?"
" well for starters all your friends are girls, except for me and tom so unless you're suggesting that tom would cheat on you or i have girl problems right now then you must be talking about a girlfriend of yours"
Star was impressed with his detective work, he was close but no cigar. "Well thanks for that bestie"
"Anytime bestie" as he got off her bed he noticed a wet spot on her bed and stared at it questionably. Star followed his eyes and went bright a shade of crimson when she noticed what he was looking at
" not to sound rude marco but could get out so i can change for bed?"
"oh , yea sorry" he got up avoiding the spot and walked out of the room.
Star looked at the spot, " those better be tears" she then used a spell to get rid of it and fought her sleep with so many things on her mind.
The next morning marco got up bright and early and saw a note on his door as he asked reading it he groaned as it was basically star telling him to clean her nasty room but as her friend and her squire he had to do the job.
After two excruciating hours of sifting through garbage, clothes and trinkets, marco went back to his room and saw an old letter sitting on the bed,
"Come to the edge of the forest alone"
He looked to the edge of the forest of certain death to see a figure in a cloak seemingly look directly at him . sensing it was a trap to capture him again marco brought a sword along with a mini crossbow with some bolts. he hooked the sword to his belt and put the bolts in a small quiver on his back and walked out with the crossbow on his shoulder.
At the lobby he passed star and tom who gave him an odd look seeing that he was armed to the teeth.
" who pissed you off diaz?"
"Nobody yet but there's something i gotta take care of"
He turned and looked at star, your rooms been cleaned thoroughly and seeing as you didnt give me anything else to do i'll be off" he concluded with a smile before walking out of the castle and being greeted by some of the citizens of mewni.
"Maybe i should follow him" star said to tom.
"He's one of the best combatants in mewni with just his fists" and he's bringing weapons i think he'll be fine" tom concluded with a smile before kissing star which she seeming wasn't ready for.
She backed off before saying, "see you tomorrow tom" he looked at her before shrugging and going home.
As marco approved the forest he was getting some really bad vibes so he readies his crossbow with a bolt. He watched the figure walk back a little to lean on a tree. This for some reason making more cautious. He finally reached the tree and the figure began speaking "i didnt think youd come from that letter" he aimed his crossbow at chest level but she took no fighting stance
"Who are you and what do want?"
The figure removed its hood to reveal a beautiful girl around the same age mabey a year or two older then marco with shiny straight black hair and green eyes. "My names clara, and was asked by a very important person to inform you that the idol has chosen you must begin training as soon as possible,"
Marco lowered his crossbow now with questions that he wanted answers to " how do you know my name what the idol and whos the important person?"
"The idol is a magical statue that can grant powers to worth people, the idol spoke your name to my teacher and i was sent to get you and bring you with be by the weekend"
"Seeing the situation you're in right now, id ask for the weekend off to come with me"
"And why the hell would i do that?"
Her voice was somewhat gentle until that point where it got cold "if you come with me you can help a lot of innocent people if not they could be harmed"
"If you're in then come see me at this exact spot on friday at 3:00 i'll be waiting"
"I'll think about it" he said.
Clara smiled before retreating back in the forest.
Marco took this as his que and walked back to the castle.
When he got back, star was by his room examining the note that was on his bed.
Marco took it from her and told her, "ya know where i'm from its rude to read other people's mail"
As he retrieved the document before removing his weapons and putting them on his desk.
" whos this from? And is this why you went to the woods?
"Her name is clara and yes"
Now may i get dressed now your highness he said teasingly.
