See if you can guess which pairing this is before the end. Hint- it's not canon. Raven

It was strange. By all accounts they should be complete opposites. They should hate each other. They shouldn't stand being near each other.

It went against all cliches, all social norms, all readily accepted ideas.

Yet, here they were.

She was a dancer. A ballet dancer, to be more specific. But that didn't mean she didn't expand her interests to other forms of dance. Free style, salsa, tango, interpretive- she was in no way close minded. Every Monday and Wednesday she taught a dance class at the local creative arts center. The rest of the week she worked as a psychiatrist. Her clients would say she worked miracles on the mind. Somehow, she had a keen perceptiveness of emotion. She could tell exactly what her patients were feeling, even if they could not express it.

On weekends and late nights, one could find her perusing the local university library for anything remotely intellectual to read. After she found something, she would walk (Yes, walk. She didn't care for vehicles, particularly personal ones like cars. In her opinion, you either saved gas by car pooling or going by public transportation, or you wasted no gas at all and walked.) to the nearest cafe and read for hours.

He was a mechanic. Anything with an engine and wheels was included in his area of expertise. Cars were his favorite to work on though. Give him a busted car and a tool box and he was a happy man. He worked at a repair shop and had earned the reputation of being one of the best mechanics in the city. He deserved the title. Every night, without fail, he would come home smelling of oil and oozing testosterone.

On the weekends he would go downtown and race with local speed seekers. Sure, it was illegal- but the rush he got when ever he put foot to metal was irresistible. Sometimes he would bet money, and sometimes it was just for pure thrill. But what ever the reason, he refused to lose. When he wasn't racing, he was out. At a club, at a bar, at the movies, with friends- he was a very social man.

With such opposing personalities, one would expect any relationship to come of them would end in chaos. But chaos isn't necessarily a bad thing.

A typical night would consist of this: She would come home from work first and read or watch tv. Sometimes she would even clean up a bit around the apartment- But that was if, and only if, she felt like it. She was no typical housewife. After an hour or so, when he wasn't racing, he would come home too. She would look up and make some comment, usually poking fun at him, about the way he smelled. Then, as revenge, he would run to the sofa and scoop her up in his arms, holding her tightly and 'making' her endure his smelliness. She would fuss for a while, whacking him playfully a few times before putting her arms around his neck and kissing him, murmuring sweet nothings back and forth before kissing again. Afterwards, he would get to making dinner. Occasionally she would help, but considering she burned nearly everything she cooked, it was usually him who made the food. They would eat and then go to bed, where she would curl up in his arms and fall asleep listening to his heart beat.

He was her everything. He made her laugh. He made her cry. He made her feel things she never thought she could feel. And she loved him for it.

She was his goddess. She kept him anchored when he was going too far away. She made him think. She kept him guessing for hours on end. And he loved her for it.

Victor and Rachael Stone were supposed to be completely wrong for each other. But then again, love has a funny way of breaking boundaries.
