Oneshot

Josh had never been one to play much during recess. He wasn't as big as fan of baseball as his twins was, he much rather watch it then play it. But one thing he did like about recess, as that he would sit somewhere shady and draw as many pictures as he liked with out getting in trouble with his teacher.

So that's why he was currently sitting on the stop step of the school's stairs, trying to draw what he thought his brothers might look lake in cartoon form. It was rather amusing, he kept getting side tracked with thoughts of giving his brothers big heads and arms. And then erasing it, wanting the picture to be as actuate as possible.

It was only when the sun got so high in the sky, and it started pelting down on him, that he finally stopped his drawing, deciding to get some water before recess was over. The air condition was a blessing and his throat thanked him for the cool water.

When he walked back outside, he noticed one of the Malloy girls sitting on the bottom step. The Weirdo as his twin had so cleverly nicknamed her. Beth. And true to her nickname, she was hunched over a book, her blonde hair hiding her face. From the stop step, he could see the title, Fang, King of the Vampires? Who in the world ever reads books like that.

Then Josh had a wonderful, awful thought. Her had his windbreaker jacket tied around his shoulders, something he did so he wouldn't look it. He stretched out his arm to look lake, well in his opinion, a giant bat. He wasn't usually the one doing the dirty work, that was usually left for Jake or Wally, but this might be able to get a little even with the girls after they cranked Mother's plate.

He made sure that when he came down the steps, he didn't make a sound. That would have ruined the whole prank. And he watched as his shadow slowly covered her light.

"Boo."

"Ahh," the Weirdo screamed, jumping up and dropping her book in the process. Josh watched as recognition washed over her and inviting warm red stained her cheeks.

"This," she said, her voice barely above a whisper, but Josh could here it a clear as day. "is exactly the kind of thing that gives me nightmares. Idiotic things that this.

"Well, why are you reading books like that if it gives you nightmares then."

The Weirdo's translucent skin turned and even deeper red, and Josh could visible see her start to shake in anger. Okay, maybe he went a little too far in the teasing. She was only ten after all. And he was supposed to be mature at the age of eleven. But then again, he had never heard of anyone under the age of thirty to use the work, Idiotic, before. So maybe she took after the Crazie more then they knew in the maturity level.

But then the bell ring as a signal that recess was over. And Josh turned on his heel, not looking back at the girl that he had just made scream her head off.

Later that day, he saw her again. He pasted her as they walked to the library. And for a split second, his dark blue eyes meet her's light ones, and her knew that she was going to get him back one way or another. Maybe having the girls around might be fun?
