Irony of Multiplicity

"But I'm still doing it- changing this world into a peaceful, beautiful world under my hands." Byakuran is all smiles in his excitement. He spares naught a glance at Shouichi; and so misses the boy's frozen smile.
"As you wish, Byakuran-san," the velvet tone forces the white-washed man to look- but Shouichi is already walking out the door.

"Shou-chaaan!" Byakuran comes forth, a silly grin on his face and even sillier flowers in his hands, "Look at the pretties I got you!" the white-washed man observes bemusedly as the redhead splutters in front of him, drinks in every detail.
"Byakuran-san!" and any other words Shouichi tries to articulate are lost beneath his blush. Byakuran's smile widens a bit more.

"Shou-chaan~" His soft, velvet tones make Shouichi's soul tremble. The redhead turns to look, a faint blush already on his cheeks. Byakuran runs a finger down his neck, "You know, don't you? Everything I do is for you."

"It's a pity," Shouichi is almost asleep on the bed, but he faintly hears Byakuran, "You are Non-Playable in this game, Shou-chan. But I want to see... all the endings you can give me."

Shouichi contacts the Vongola, frigidly negotiating his utter betrayal and keeping crucial details to himself. His breath is cold, his room is freezing, his eyes are hard- he will do everything he can.
2b
Shouichi has taken to pondering things he shouldn't while working, and becoming extremely forgetful. His blush is near-constant, his composure mostly forgotten, his room a mess- and he cannot seem to concentrate in his plans.

Shouichi finishes his preparations with empty eyes. The more he hears, the more his soul feels oppressed. His room is tidy, his mind focused, his heart broken- he does not want all that blood in his hands.

As Byakuran fades in front of the Vongola- there are two things running in his mind. How this other player- this Vongola player- does not think as he does; and how ironic this ending has turned out to be.

Byakuran coldly stares into the eyes of his previous right-hand man. He had been right into keeping things hidden from Shouichi, then.
Shouichi merely closes his eyes, head up and proud as he is executed- after all, he hates Byakuran above all else.
His body is precariously buried where no one will ever see.
2c
Byakuran watches with a smile as the Vongola are defeated and done with. He holds out a hand beside him, happily offering.
Shouichi accepts with a trembling hand, eyes locked upon the Vongola- he failed his mission spectacularly.
He hangs himself in Byakuran's room the day the world is to be changed.
3c
Byakuran fades away, finding one last look upon his friend of years. He cannot help but think of the utmost irony from this ending, so awful.
Shouichi watches impassively, ignoring his heart and feelings- He refuses the bloodied world to be created.
He does not look away even when Byakuran looks at him.

When Gokudera asks, Shouichi denies ever shedding tears for their enemy. Gokudera believes him, but it doesn't make the words any less lies.
Byakuran takes to his grave, in all worlds, his secret and twisted amusement. He has played all endings that Shouichi can give him- and it is the utmost irony that the more Shouichi loves him, the worst his ending is.
Thou art Tragedy; that which takes apart. Thou art Betrayal; that which chooses separation. Thou art Death; that which is irreversible.
