Sam won't be coaxed out that night, and eventually Dean shrugs and heads out alone. He gets drunk fast, goes home with a pretty blond who lives in a townhouse two blocks from the bar. Afterwards, he falls asleep in her bed.
Dean dreams he's back at the runway, stretched out next to Sam on the hood of the Impala. It's nighttime. He can see his breath, but the car is warm underneath him, the metal creaking and ticking as it cools. Overhead a plane is moving in the dark. He can't be sure if it's landing or taking off.
