Chapter Two-The Monster speaks.

"I'm late, I'm late, I'm late!!"Mad Hatter screamed in absolute terror. As if those words would save him. Nothing could save him now. Not from me. He would occasionally look over his right shoulder with huge child-like eyes as he ran into the shadows of the worn down warehouse. Fear was in those eyes. I did my job. He stopped running, almost falling down to his death. He stepped backwards with his right foot, stumbling a little while looking from right to left out of the corner of his eyes. He looked down at his shoes then up into glowing white eyes. The Batman's eyes. He jumped back. More fear engulfed him. He turns around, putting his back to me and tries to run away again. Key Word; Try. He wouldn't get far.

I was on his trail like a black shroud over a child's casket while getting in front of the little man, no taller than a ten your old boy. I think of my Mother again. How she used to read me Alice and Wonderland on rainy days. How my Father would say angrily,"Martha, You are putting nonsense inside that boys head." I glide across the room getting closer towards him. He steps backwards more. I narrow my eyes through the slits of the Bat cowl, clenching my right hand into a fist as I growl under my breath. Wait. Batman doesn't have parents. Why should it bother me? I'm not Bruce Wayne at the moment. I am the Batman. The monster. My right arm comes out of the shadow of my cape, revealing my muscular shoulders and arms. Unclenching my right hand, grabbing him by the collar of his meretricious green jacket, lifting and putting him right up to my face. His mouth opened wide as if to say or scream for help but nothing ever came out. His feet dangle. I have a stern-stoic look on my face. The monster speaks in a low raspy tone,"Where's the girl?"

He moves around violently in my grip, shaking his head 'no' as his eyes widen. Stupid move. I growl louder, getting impatient. I tighten my grip.

"I will say this again, Jervis. Where. Is. The. Girl."The monster spoke again, in a lower, almost animalistic tone. I brought him up closer to my face, tightening my grip around the collar of his jacket, making him choke on his own salvia while mouthing words. Good thing I can read lips. I got the just of the information I wanted to hear and with that I threw him to the opposite side of the room. He hit the wall hard, throwing his head back in pain. He put his head downward, blood pouring out of his mouth."Stupid bat," He spat. He slowly went unconscious as I tied him up with an old line from one of my grapnels. The authorities can deal with him. The girl is my main priority. I get up from bending down on my right knee, turning to the left and walking out the door as I venture out into the hall way with my cape flapping in the wind that came from the open windows . I walk the flight of stairs to the top floor of the warehouse. Where Jervis Tetch: The Mad Hatter, said she would be. He could have been lying. Something in me told me he was telling the truth. Maybe that was Bruce Wayne. I could never tell. I'd just have to find out myself.
