Summary: Harry leaves to fight Voldemort; he leaves his love to go to Hogwarts with a broken heart. This is the story of their struggles with out each other. Told in both Harry's and Ginny's prospective. It does not follow the books. (meaning things may happen that didn't happen in the books) I do not own Harry Potter, J.K does.

"I miss you already." Ginny sat with Harry on her bed. The two had just finished sharing a private moment, and Ginny was suddenly ripped with the anguish of her love leaving.

"I know, Gin, its going to be hard on me too." Harry stroked her hair. He regretted letting them be together like they had, almost as soon as it was over. Ginny, who knew exactly how to get what she wanted, had persuaded Harry into doing more then the kissing they had originally been doing for his birthday. She had remarked that it may be their last time together, and she had not needed to say anymore.

"Why can't I come with you?" Ginny had understood why she couldn't come earlier, they hadn't been together, but now, she assumed that he was taking back his break up with her.

"Ginny," Harry looked meaningfully at her, "we can't be together until after this war is over." He finished firmly, but his eyes showed that he wish it weren't necessary. "I have to make sure your safe, even if that means ripping out my heart. If Voldemort finds out about us, he'll use you against me." Harry stood up and began collecting his clothes.

Once he had them on, he took Ginny's head in his hands and gave her a kiss. He put all the love he could master into that kiss, trying to show her how much she really meant to him. They broke apart, sucking in air, and stared into each others eyes.

"I love you Ginny, but until this is over, we can't be a couple. Please be safe, and feel free to date someone else. Who knows, maybe I'll come back and you want even want me anymore." He spoke the end with a tone of sadness hoping it wouldn't happen.

Ginny grimaced at the words Harry said. "I will always love you." She could feel the tears coming and tried her best not to let them come. She took a deep breath, held her head high, and said "We best be getting down stairs to that party of yours."

Harry wanted nothing less then to go to a party, especially one for him, but he knew that Ginny needed him to go so that she could breakdown without him seeing. He saw the gleaming tears in her eyes and knew how hurt she felt. He stood and walked over to the door. Looking back at her he said, "Please forgive me." Then he went downstairs to greet his guest, but not before hearing the muffled sobs of a weeping angel.
