AN: Right, well this is my first crossover. Spooks and Criminal Minds are two of my favourite shows, so it only seemed natural that I'd mix them at some point. This was written from the Fortune Cookie Friday prompt over at Author's Corner in the Criminal Minds fandom forum. Please read and review. :)
Everything You've Got
"You've got what it takes, but it will take everything you've got."
Emily sits on the edge of her bed, staring at the buzzing mobile phone in her hand. It's Hotch but he hasn't been the only one that's called. Morgan, JJ and Garcia have too. Rossi had even tried to physically stop her from leaving earlier but she had ignored him. She's sure Lucas would have dealt with him anyway.
Ros's words of…warning (as she now interprets them) echo through her brain. She knew without a doubt if she followed them now her career here in the US was beyond salvageable. She knew she would most likely be labeled a traitor within the United States but as a citizen of the UK also; they would protect her. Without a doubt.
Pulled from her introspective thoughts by Lucas's insistent prompting, she drops her phone to her bed.
"C'mon Emily, we have to hurry," Lucas insisted in his clipped British accent.
Emily stands, grabbing the small hold all that's already been packed. She doesn't ask who's packed it, it didn't matter; she wouldn't use it for long anyway. Emily follows Lucas downstairs, glancing around her apartment as she goes. The space is sterile and impersonal and she's sure her place in London won't be any different.
She takes one last glance at her apartment as she gets into the awaiting car. As she looks around she notices Morgan standing by the apartment complex door. He looks directly at her and for a moment she freezes; then she closes her eyes and turns, sliding into the black car without a backwards glance.
Ros's words echo in her mind again, 'you've got what it takes, but it will take everything you've got.'
And it certainly had taken everything she had.
AN: Okay, I just want to know if anyone wants to see more of this universe. I've got several ideas for follow ups and whatnot for this universe but I won't write them if no one's interested. Also, I had a thought that this could be a way Emily leaves in season six...I did see mentions of a dangerous and threatening European and well, Lucas could definitely be a dangerous and threatening 'European'. Plus he speaks Russian, he could definitely be mistaken as European... Anyway, I was thinking if I do continue that I'd make this an Emily/Lucas pairing and because I can, maybe hints of Adam/Ros (because I'm just going to pretend Adam didn't die). So, yeah, let me know what you think. I'm interested in what people think is going on too.
