Tiaras and Valentines
Hm. "I like this..one.. Hm," I whispered to myself. "Hm..Ooh!" I took out a soft pink dress and held it against myself in front of the mirror. I quickly put it on. It fell right at my knees. I walked back into my closet and looked down at my shoes, most were still in bags. I pulled out a pair of black strappy sandals and put them on, then glanced in the mirror. "Definitely not," I said to myself.
I ended up choosing a pair of silver ballet flats. "Perfect," I said, looking in the mirror, again. I skipped down the steps at human speed. "Morning," I chirped. Esme took my hand and briefly kissed my cheek. Rosalie said nothing.
I tapped my freshly polished nails on Edward's piano. The doorbell rang.
Carlisle, Emmett, and Jasper left to hunt earlier yesterday afternoon. Edward had left for Bella's last night.
I danced to the door and opened it. A smile started to form at the corners of Jasper mouth. He held his hands behind his back and bent down to kiss me. "Close your eyes," he said. I did. "Alright, open them."
There, he held out a long, small, black box. I giggled and opened it.
It was a silver bracelet with "Alice" spelled out in small diamonds on a rectangle. I loved it.
Hm. I didn't even see this. Last minute decision?
"Oh, Jasper! I love it!"
I jumped into his arms.
"It's so beautiful! Perfect!"
"Happy Valentines Day," he whispered into my ear.
Jasper picked up the bracelet, and slipped it on my wrist. I admired it, then hugged him tightly.
I ran over to Rosalie, who was still sitting on the couch. "Look," I squeaked, holding out my wrist. She turned her head away from the T.V. "That's nice, Alice," she said.
Jasper nodded his head in relief and sat down next to me.
Just then, Carlisle appeared at the door, his hand behind his back, like Jasper. He slowly walked across the room to Esme, who had her hand over her mouth, the other over her heart. "Carlisle," she whispered.
Carlisle held out a brilliant bouquet of red roses. "Oh!" she whispered. "They're so beautiful Carlisle, thank you." He kissed her forehead.
While Esme looked for a vase to put her flowers in, Emmett walked in the room.
"Close your eyes, Rose," he insisted.
She rolled her eyes, hiding a smile.
Emmett placed a diamond studded tiara on her head.
"Em, what the h-"
"Like it?" Emmett cut in.
"What, what the..what is this?"
"Tiara," he shrugged.
"A very expensive tiara," he added.
"I- Emmett! You got me a tiara?" she tried to sound furious, But then just looked down.
"I- I love it," she laughed.
"Yeah, I know," he said, smiling.
