Broken

Cyrus Ramsey stood between walls,

Transporters, technicians and vulcans tall.

A transporter to send him not very far,

He hoped that it would be up to par.

...

The switch was thrown, transportation began,

His molecules separated, as was the plan.

But the pattern buffer developed a snag,

The transporter glitched, the computers lagged.

...

All Starfleet's women, vulcans and men,

Couldn't put Cyrus together again.

So now six years later, we offer a toast,

To Cyrus, Starfleet's first transporter ghost.

A/N

Somewhat obviously based off the story of Cyrus Ramsey, even if said story likely was only a figament of Hoshi's imagination when stuck in the transporter's pattern buffer. A bit less obvious, but probably also worth mentioning is that this was adapted from the rhyme of Humpty Dumpty. Use of "all the king's horses" in regards to the story put the idea in my head.
