Standing in the ruins of a building in the desert was a man, he was rather short with spiky black with blond bangs and red tips, and there was a crown set on his head. There was an eerie glow on the desert. Suddenly, the Pharaoh recited an ancient spell in an unknown language and the evil entity threatening Egypt started to fade away. The Pharaoh's memories faded away as even his name was lost to him. He started to fade away, disappearing into the pyramid-shaped pendant hanging on his neck. He finally vanished into the golden pendant. As it fell the pendant shattered into thousands of pieces lying on the cold, dry ground. Then sudden darkness descended on the Nameless Pharaoh who had sacrificed himself to save Egypt from the dark evil. The soul wandered in the endless darkness for over 1000 years waiting for someone to solve the golden puzzle. Finally, 5000 years later, someone was close to finishing the confounding puzzle. It had taken the young boy 7 years to solve the puzzle, but finally the puzzle was almost complete. This boy was often bullied at school though and had only one real friend. A bully was demanding money from the boy though. So, he worked hard almost solving the puzzle. That night he finally completed the Millennium Puzzle. The soul went and confronted the bully. After learning a hard lesson from the spirit, the bully left people alone and never bullied Yugi again. After that the boy had real friends that would stay by his side, no matter what. So, the King of Games who had once wandered in darkness, now had friends he would help, who would later help him recover his memories, and his lost name, Atem.
