Kanoi: NEJIHINA!
Naruto: What about us!? –pouts-
Sasuke: I'm perfectly fine with her not writing about me.
Kanoi: Well, I originally was going to write about you for the "death" challenge, but the bonus was to not use Sasuke in any way, shape, or form. Anyway, this is based off a theory I have. There seem to be very few full grown women in the Hyuuga clan. Therefore, I have a theory that they most always die after bearing a child. I know Hinata has a younger sister, but they could have different mothers. ANYWAY!
Naruto: Kanoi doesn't own Naruto!
Sasuke: Thank god.

Neji stared at the delicate newborn in his arms, and he felt the bitter taste of bile rise up his esophagus. The uncomfortable pressure of loss pressed against his hearts.
Nine months ago Neji had been sipping tea after a training session when Hinata had told him she was pregnant. He had been full of greed and begged Hinata not to go through with the pregnancy, but she had been firm in her decision. As the months passed and Hinata's stomach grew fuller, Neji's anxiety grew.
Neji watched the fire take away the body of his beautiful wife. The flames jumped about, licking the leaves that were hanging precariously and desperately to their branches. Neji knew how the leaves felt. Not only had Neji lost his love, but the Hyuuga had lost an amazing leader.
Neji's life crumbled away to dust, just like Hinata's pale body in the selfish fire.

Kanoi: I couldn't really figure out how to end it…
Sasuke: I noticed.
Kanoi: Anyway, I hope it was decently enjoyable.
