(A/N: This is pure drabble from over 10 years ago. Basically, it's an alternate first meeting between Lucia and Kaito.)
In the distant night, a boy stood on the beach. It was a warm summer night in July. A full, white moon shone in the dark blue night sky, filling it with a beautiful, almost ethereal light. A soft breeze and a slight fog also graced the beach.
The boy was staring at the calm, glittering blue ocean when he heard a faint noise. A girl's gorgeous singing voice echoed from somewhere in the night.
"The rainbow wind blows at a far off coast..." Her beautiful vice sang out.
The boy heard a noise coming from a spot near the shoreline. His eyes fixed upon that spot.
"Before dawn, there was a melody I heard..." The girl's voice continued to sing.
Bubbles formed on the surface of the sea of the spot the boy was fixated upon. A girl's head rose up from the water, the singing now growing louder.
So it's her singing, the boy thought to himself.
"The birds that fly towards the eastern sky..." Her song continued as her head came up from the sea.
The boy looked at the girl in wonder. She had mystifying blue eyes and beautiful long, blonde hair. Her hair was also cutely tied up in two high ponytails on the each side of her head.
"After the stormy night, to tell you my love I will be born again..." Her voice grew louder.
She continued to sing as she rose up even more from the water. A sparkling pink pearl hung around her neck. She wore a pink bikini top.
The boy stared at her in awe. Why was this girl out swimming by herself so late?! And why was she singing?!
The boy ran closer to the girl, trying to call out to her. But before his words could reach her, the girl jumped out of the water into the air. To the boy's shock, he saw that this girl had pink fins instead of legs.
No way! The girl was a mermaid...
"Wait!" The boy called out to her.
But, alas, she didn't hear him. The mermaid girl splashed back into the sea. Her singing started to fade away into the ocean's depths.
"As long as we sing the melody of the seven, countries I'll never forget..." Her voiced faded way completely as her song concluded.
After that encounter, the boy just stood there, completely still. He was both confused and amazed.
Mermaids were real...
