C-ta couldn't shake the weird feeling in his chest. He just couldn't understand it; he walked with A-ya to and from school, often holding hands as they went. It wasn't like they were in love or anything. C-ta just wanted to be sure A-ya didn't wander into the street. He often watched his phone as he walked despite C-ta's numerous warnings. C-ta thought this too be a pretty good comprimise. Whenever they walked outside, they would get weird stares. A-ya ignored them all- or maybe he didn't even notice them?- but C-ta would smile gently and wave, all the while steering A-ya away from anything dangerous.

After all, C-ta was his hero right? This was the least a hero could do.

And that was where the problem came in. How could C-ta be a hero when the slightest touch sent his heart beating rapidly? His face warmed when A-ya glanced at him for even a second too long. And he definitely felt a pang of, of something everytime B-ko reached for A-ya. This feeling was driving him crazy.

"C-ta. C-ta...!"

C-ta's eyes snapped open, his head slipping from the hand that had been supporting him. He found himself staring into a pair of two close, gorgeous red eyes.

Wait. Gorgeous?

He nearly fell backwards, but caught himself, and managed a weak but sincere smile at A-ya. A-ya stared back at him, worried. Of course, C-ta was the only one who could see he was worried. A-ya had very monotonous expressions.

He nodded when A-ya asked him if he was okay. Then he stood and gathered his things. When he walked, A-ya quickly fell into step.

A-ya watched C-ta closely, not bothering to whip out his phone as he normally would. C-ta knew, even if no one else could, that there was something A-ya wanted.

"Should we go somewhere, A-ya? Before we head home?," C-ta asked coolly.

A-ya couldn't keep the smile off his face. He nodded and started to talk, quickly and passionately, on and on about his beloved rumors. As he listened, C-ta's heart started to race. It often did, when he saw A-ya's face light up in such a way.

He couldn't help it. He reached out and gently took A-ya's hand in his. A-ya froze for a second, a long painful second, and then thought nothing weird of it. He smiled up at C-ta before continuing with his talk of rumors.

By now, C-ta was only half listening.

He placed his free hand on his chest, and kept it there until he could feel his flustered heartbeat. And when it happened, he grinned.

This was a feeling C-ta could get used to.
