Disclaimer: I don't own Rwby or its characters, they specifically belong to Roster Teeth, aside from my own oc, of course.
A horde of Grimm marched through the forest of Mistral, and a rather large Gorilla-like Grimm was carrying a large wrapped up package of some kind. Snarling, as many of The Grimm communicated, acting as a unit with a purpose rather than a group of ravenous animals bent on seeking and rendering the flesh humans.
Many of Beowulfs stood away from the main entourage, scouting around, looking about. Some had blood on them from a run in with a human patrol, not a hunter, regular soldiers. The humans never stood a chance, besides offering their souls as a tasty snack, The Grimm had a purpose it seemed.
Very rarely did Grimm move with purpose, and it was a thing that would draw attention.
That attention they drew, despite being a large horde, was the attention of a dedicated group of Huntsmen specifically tailored to killing large hordes, and among them was their most feared warrior. A woman with silver eyes, a delicate face, and red tipped black hair.
A large blinding light of silver blasted through the main body of the horde, several figures dropping from the trees, taking out any stragglers that the silver light didn't catch. Her scythe found the heads of a King Taiju, slicing them clean off as her eyes glowed with power.
The power that made many of The Grimm scatter, only to wind up getting obliterated by a scythe-wielding man, whose eyes glowed red with power. The howls and death screams of Grimm around the pair of scythe-wielding warriors signaled that their team was successfully obliterating the horde.
Emerging from the woods, a cane-wielding man blasts several Grimm away with a wave of his palm, sending out energy blasts that made the creatures of darkness scream out a death howl so painful it made the woman by him wince.
She had blonde hair, was well figured, very tall. Amazonian like, her green eyes glowed with power as her hands held a riding crop, waving it about, summoning an ice storm that killed any Grimm coming towards them.
Back to back with the slightly shorter man, she maneuvered with him as they turned around, taking down Grimm that came at them from all sides. Roaring out, her semblance grabbed at several large Grimm and allowed her to smash them together into a ball.
No sooner than she did a large torrent of fire came from a man wielding a thermos like a weapon that doubled as a flamethrower, he had a smirk on his face as he burnt The Grimm to a crispy ball of black matter before it bursts into smoke.
When a large reptilian-like Grimm was about lunge at the man with the thermos, a large man with a white mustache and rather short hair blasts it away with a large blunderbuss with a bayonet that he then charged it with.
"Tallyho!" He yelled, jumping, and impaling it downwards.
"Thank you, Port!" The man with the thermos called out, burning several smaller Grimm coming towards him, "Burn baby…burn."
"Indeed Dr. Oobleck, let'em burn!"
"Muahahaha!"
"Bwahahaha!"
Both men laughed boisterously as they got back to back, both firing their weapons at the encroaching Grimm, only for a silver light to flood over them and the woman to land to their backs as well. Pressing her back against them, followed by a blonde-haired man with blue eyes.
"Mrs. Summer, Mr. Taiyang." Oobleck smiled, "thank you kindly."
"No mention it, been a while since I used Ember Firefly." Taiyang said, punching and blasting a ball of flame from his fist weapons.
"Indeed, Crescent Moon has been waiting for a fight." Summer commented as she twirled her double-sided spear, slicing a Beowulf in half, "this has been a rather fruitful hunt."
"Ozpin," Port glanced over as the silver-haired man as he jumped, kicking a Nevermore that was flying to the ground, landing on top of it.
Ozpin gripped his cane with both hands, slamming it down onto the creature's head, and destroying it.
"Yes, Port?" Ozpin asked with a quirked
"We got a runner, a Beringel, it's carrying something!"
Ozpin nodded, leaping on top a few Beowulfs' heads as he makes his way towards the large Grimm.
The Grimm turned, and its crimson red eyes widened as Ozpin struck it head with a powerful swing, knocking it to the ground. The small package that the Bringel carried rolled roughly through the ground.
Roaring in primal rage, it tried to take a swing at Ozpin, only to have its head sliced clean off by a woman with red eyes and ravenlike hair. She flicked her katana before putting it back into its sheath, patting it, and looked right at Ozpin as she crosses her arms.
"Raven, bout' time you showed up," Taiyang said as he stopped next Ozpin, cocking Ember Dragonfly.
"Qrow," Raven simply said, watching the man cut the head off another Bringel. "Is that it?"
"A few stragglers got away, but it's significantly less than what was here, it's strange that they were moving away from a village instead of heading back towards it." Qrow commented, "oh well… I need a drink."
"Of course," Raven sighed as she pinched the her nose in annoyance, "that's the first thing you'd think about after a fight."
"Now, Mr. Brawen brings up a serious question, why would Grimm run from a village instead of near it. I could have sworn that with such a large group we'd expect to fight Salem, she never commands this many Grimm without purpose." Oobleck commented. But suddenly the air filled with a wail.
It wasn't the wail of a man or woman. But the wail of a child?
Raven was the first to move, walking over to the little red clothed package the Grimm had been carrying and furiously protected, making the situation even more disturbing. Kneeling, she grabbed the blanket and peeled it back, and her red eyes widened in suprise as she saw a pair of striking amber eyes with virtical slit pupils that stared back at her before continuing to wail.
"This is, very unexpected."
Ozpin in his curiousity, moved towards Raven before gently pushing her out of the way so he could get a closer look at the infant child. The child was a baby boy that had pale skin with short black hair, just like any other child. But the most shocking thing he ever saw was that the infant was both his arms above where his elbows should be and his left leg was missing to his thigh. From the look at the childs stumps, it looked like his limbs where amputated. What kind of sick bastard would do this to a child, he wondered.
Summer moved towards the infant before grabbing him and wrapping him back up in the same cloth he was wrapped in before. The child seemed to calm down from her presence and started to giggle at her.
"He should be at least 5 months old, but why where the Grimm so determined to take him?" Summer asked as she walked to her teammates.
"I don't know Summer," Ozpin replied honestly. "But it must have something to do with Salem, I'm sure of it."
"How?" Raven questioned, "What could Salem possibly want with this child? If you can't see, he's practically defensless."
"That may be true, Raven." Ozpin looked to Raven. "But if Salem sent this many Grimm for just one child, then he must have some importance to her."
"Well, whatever it is. It is obvious that she can't have this boy at any cost." Oobleck added, making everyone nodd in agreement.
"So now that we're all in agreement, what are we going to do with this child?" Glynda asked as said child looked into Glynda's eyes and began to smile.
"He is such a cutie… can I keep him?" Summer asked with puppy eyes at her teammates.
"No." Raven and Qrow simply said, suprising almost everyone since they rarely agreed on anything.
"Aww, comm'on guys." Summer pouted with fake tears, as the sibling looked at the laughing child, both having a slight feeling of guilt.
Glynda however, shook her head in disapproval and took the child in her arms, who laughed and giggled at her embrace, making her smile.
Meanwhile, Ozpin was stuck in his own thoughts. He couldn't help but wonder what his past lover was scheming of this time. It didn't make sense for her to have that many take just one child, so why did this boy peak her interest this much? Whatever the reason may be, he knew it couldn't be any good.
"Hello? Remnant to Ozpin."Said a worried Summer, clapping her hands infront of Ozpins face to get his attention. "Are you okay?"
"It's nothing, I'm fine." Ozpin said dissmissively. He looked to Glynda, who to his suprise, played with the child.
"Huh, who would've thought? Glynda stern-faced Goodwitch is playing with a kid. " Qrow commented, making both Ozpin and summer chuckle and earning a face of annoyance from Glynda.
"So do we give him to the authorities and let them take care of him?" Glynda suggested to which Summer quickly shook her head in dissaproval and took the child in her embrace.
"No, I am keeping him." Summer pouted, making the rest of the huntsman sweatdrop from her usually childish immaturaty.
"I'll adopt him." Ozpin announced, earning the dumbfounded looks from his fellow teammates.
"Are you nuts, you're gonna be the next headmaster of beacon soon, do you really thing you will have time for him? " Qrow questioned
"And because I'm going be the next headmaster, is exactly why I best qualify. I will take care of him and teach him how to become a huntsman. Plus think about this, if Salem wants him, then he could attract unwanted individuals, he'll will be safe inside the academy's walls." Ozpin explained.
His fellow huntsman paused in a moment of thought, all trying to come up with a counter argument, but in the end they found none to give.
"Alright fine, so how are you gonna name him?" Qrow asked, which made Ozpin immediately turn to Summer.
"How about we let Summer do the naming? She's always had a talent on the naming department." Ozpin suggested, much to Summer's delight as her silver eyes gleamed.
She looked at the child before she remembered something. The kid looked slightly familiar to character from an old comic book she used to read when she was a kid, about a lone man traveling a gigantic megastructure to save the human race from crazy cybernetic beings and robots.
"A strong name for a mysterious child, you shall be named, Killy." Summer said, raising the child into the air, which made him laugh.
"I think he likes it." Port laughed.
"We should leave before more more Grimm show up." Tai suggested, getting a nod of agreement from the other huntsman.
As they walked out of the forest, ozpin couldn't help but wonder if they made the right choice. But little did he know of the future the child had in store for them all.
XXX
An 17 year-old young man with amber eyes with vertical slit pupils slowly opened fron the sound of a nearby alarm clock on the dresser next to his bed.
The young man soon stood up, revealing that he had a lean but athletic build with puppet-like prosthetic arms that had metal sticking from the elbows and a prosthetic left leg. With a yawn he turned his alarm off before continuing his morning routine by going to his bathroom, taking a shower and brushing his teeth before tying his long black hair that had bangs covering his right eye back into a ponytail. He left the bathroom and turned on his T.V., channging the channel to before walking over to his fridge to see what he could eat.
"..The robbery to the dust shop let by Roman Torchwick was stopped thanks to the help of to what the owner described 'A girl in a red hood with a giant Scythe.'" The news explained while the young man put a piece of toast in his mouth while putting some dog food in a plate.
He whistled and not long after, a small dog that had red eyes and white fur with black spots all over it yipped as it ran towards the plate before eating.
He caressed his dog (which was named Dororo) with his prosthetic hands with a smile before he changed into his clothes.
He donned a light unzipped, navy-blue tracksuit that had white anchor-like symbol on the back, and it sleeves rolled up to the elbows with a ragged blue cloak that covered his left side, with his mid-section uncovered (looks like Yasuo's cloak from League of Legends). Underneath the jacket, he wore a simple khaki thermal-shirt, with knee-length brown cargo jogger-like pants. He had grey bandages wrapped around both his prosthetic arms that had black fingerless driving gloves, along with bandages wrapped around his shins; leaving him completely barefoot. After his breakfast, he grabbed his scroll and left his room, with Dororo following not far behind him.
The two walked through the halls that lead towards the Headmaster's office, and Dororo jumpsd into her masters arms.
Soon, they reached the elevator and the young man put the dog down before grabbing a small notepade and wrote in it.
When he finished, he faced the notpade toward the elevator's scanner.
'To the Headmaster's office, please.'
"Of course, please put your scroll in the scanner for identification."
He nooded, bringing out his scroll for the elevators computer analyze.
"Thank you for cooperation, Killy. You will arrive at Headmaster Ozpin's office in a few seconds."
The elevator went up, and Killy had a feeling that the day ahead was going to be a long one, he just knew it.
A/N:
I hoped you all enjoyed the first chapter of this new story.
The oc in question is based off the charcater Hyakkimaru from the anime Dororo 2019, with his name coming from the main character from one of my favorite manga of all time, Blame!. And of course, the dog is named after Dororo herself.
I hope you all enjoyed this.
