For a moment Refia thought she was hearing things when she heard waves.
'That is...impossible, right?'
She opened her eyes and immediately noticed the wall of white before her.
"Huh!?" she sat up quickly and was relieved to see that it wasn't the wall she had seen but the ceiling instead. That relief was washed away when she noticed the room she was in. It was all white save for the carpet which was Red Mage red and intricate carvings were carved into the walls. There were multiple windows and a pair of glass doors were open nearby. The had a pair of white shear curtains that flowed in the warm breeze that Refia could feel on the bare skin of her legs.
That made her eyes widen as she looked down and realized to her dismay that her pants were missing!
'How-when-where-WHY!?'
Her blacksmith pants were missing and now she remained in a short blue and white dress that she would wear under her blacksmith apron. Refia also saw that despite having been working on a project with her adopted father before she had decided to take a nap her skin was surprisingly clean. Normally she'd be covered in soot and grime from working in the shop all day. Her cross shaped brooch was also polished and clean and was fixed to the top of her dress. Still that didn't matter much as her legs were bare and without pants all one person would have to do is look a certain way and they could see under her dress.
Not wanting to allow that Refia grabbed the pillow that was behind her and covered her legs with it to hide her smooth but bare legs, being uncomfortable in how she had gotten this way. Many theories were flowing inside her head and it was a chaotic mess. However, as out of control as Refia was at the moment she knew one thing for certain. 'If this is a joke I swear whoever did it is going to get hurt!'
Going calm for a moment, the young woman suddenly heard the waves coming from outside once again, and she momentarily forgot about her dismay and lack of clothing. She moved around, quickly noticing that she was sitting on a large and-to be honest-the most comfortable bed she had ever been on in her life. It honestly felt like she was sitting on clouds it was that soft.
'I wonder if those waves are real or not...?' She thought moving her legs over to the side of the bed and slamming them down onto the floor.
"Gah!"
The soles of her feet immediately hit something and her full weight came down on whatever was on the floor.
Immediately Refia hopped back on the bed, ready to use the pillow as a makeshift weapon, "Whose there!?"
Ready to bring her weapon down on whoever it was, Refia leaned back to deliver the first blow when she saw a tuft of silver hair come up from below the edge of the bed. It was a young man in the same age as Refia and wearing purple and black. He was holding his hands to his stomach from when she had stood up on him.
The two locked eyes and immediately they recognized each other.
"Refia?"
"Luneth?!"
The young woman sighed at the familiar face, "Thank the crystals it's just you..."
The young man got to his feet, still cradling his more than likely bruised stomach with both his hands. Eventually he had to sit on the edge of the bed to help with his breathing and he was in a good deal of pain. "Nice to see you too..."
Refia immediately apologized, "I'm sorry about that...I didn't know you were there..."
Luneth waved at her and rubbed his stomach, "it's fine..."
The young woman kept the pillow on her lap as she sat on the bed. "By the way, you wouldn't happen to know where we are, would you?"
The young man shook his head. "No. Last I remember Arc and I were exploring the woods on the surface world when we got separated...I have no idea where we are to be honest."
Refia was blushing as Luneth got back to his feet, having rubbed away the majority of the pain that had been inflicted on his abdomen. "And I was helping my father before I decided to take a nap. When I woke up I found myself here..."
"Glad to hear you've taken up blacksmithing." Walking to the open door Luneth's jaw dropped at what he saw, "Um, you better come take a look at this..."
Careful and still hugging the pillow to her hips Refia made her way over to the doors and was surprised at what she saw. A beautiful white sand beach that seemed to stretch on forever sandwiched between clear blue ocean and a lush green forest. It was a tropical paradise unlike any the two former adventurers had seen before, even during that time they had saved the world from total darkness.
"Um...well, this certainly doesn't help us in the slightest," Refia said. Luneth agreed, he couldn't even begin to imagine where they were.
"Well it's nice to see that you two are awake, kupo!"
Both of them turned to see a little white moogle pushing a silver food cart into the room, it's red pom-pom bouncing back and forth atop its head.
"Uh, and you are?" Asked Refia still clutching the pillow to her frame.
The moogle pushed the cart to the center of the room where a small circular table and two chairs were, "My name is Mooglee, kupo, and I am a worker of Mog's Resort. I'm here to serve you breakfast, as well as answer any and all questions you may have, kupo. Now, come and eat before it gets cold."
As much as she wanted her questions answered Refia couldn't help but think of eating first. It sounded like a better idea for the moment at least. "...I want to eat first."
Luneth agreed, though he had to add, "Sure you want to eat anymore? You're heavy enough as it is-"
Lightning quick Refia drove the point of her elbow into Luneth's stomach and he immediately went to his knees, regretting everything as he hit the floor.
A/N: just to clarify, this story takes place a few years after the end of the game to avoid any objections tot he character's ages (late teens mostly unless otherwise stated). Originally planned to be a serious story, i added moments of comedy and I like it better like this.
