This Never Happened

It's a hot summer day, and with nothing better to do, M'gann tries to get Artemis to sing with her. Based off the Parks and Rec scene Time after Time. Short and sweet.

Authors note: I do not own the song, it is Time after Time by Cindy Lauper. The inspiration for the scene was taken from Parks and Rec, so I don't own that either. And obviously I own none of the Young Justice characters. :)

It was a hot summer afternoon at the cave. And everyone on the team was really…really…bored. The boys were out doing god knows what, but M'gann, she was taking on a challenge like none other…

"I don't sing." Artemis deadpanned

"Oh come on! It'll be fun!" M'gann prodded., "I even wrote down the lyrics!" She pointed to the mobile whiteboard where she had written down the words to one of her favorite earth songs. She pointed to the middle of the whiter and started singing.

"If your lost and your found than you will find me! Time after time."

"Your turn." M'gann said throwing a plastic microphone at Artemis, who refused to catch it.

"No, I don't sing. Can we please just go fight some bad guys. You know, like superheroes!" Artemis yelled, but her protests were in vain

"If you fall I will catch you, I'll be waiting!"

"Let's…go…fight…bad guys!" Artemis yelled doing charades for every word.

" If you sing, we go fight bad guys." M'gann said mimicking Artemis's charades.

Artemis sighed and picked up the microphone .

"Secrets stolen from deep inside." Artemis sang, without having to look at the lyrics

"Wait you know this song already?"

"Of course I know this song, it's incredible, now shut up and sing so we can go kick ass."

"The drum beats out of time." Artemis started, then M'gann joined her, " If your lost you can look and you will find me! Time after time. if you fall I will catch you—"

Suddenly Zatanna burst in through the doors to join them, "I will be waiting! Time after time, time after time, time after time."

M'gann went to hug Artemis but she ducked. Artemis sprinted out of the training area towards her room screaming, "Be in full costume, by the Zeta tube in five minutes! You too Zatanna!"

"Woo!" Zatanna cheered.

"This never happened!" Artemis yelled behind her.

But the recording camera that M'gann was holding told a different story.
