Alexander stared at laurens, smiling at the freckled man who was laughing in joy at some joke hercules told about 'why the baker was mad at him and his daughter' and ' how horses were locked away from him' but something made Alex frown at how the way laurens glanced at hercules with-love.
'Why is he staring at him like that?' alexander thought as jealousy crept up his heart at how that should've been him,
He sighed as he glanced away from the painful scene , tears pricking his brown orbs as he watched them flirt and laugh not caring if someone was hurt by the oblivious display of affection.

"mon ami? Why are you looking so sad?"
'lafayette….i forgot about him'
He hurriedly composed himself and plastered his beaming smile at the french man " nothing too important laf." lafayette looked a bit doubtful at his words but brushed it off and smiled at alexander, returning his attention back to the flirting duo.
Alexander swallowed thickly as he hesitantly glanced at lafayette who smiled at the duo with amusement , clearing his throat. Lafayette looked back at him with concern.
" um laf? Can i ask you something?" lafayette nodded at him with encouragement,curious to what his friend wanted to say.
"What's herc and lauren's relationship? They seem…...close." lafayette looked at alexander as if he grew a second head,frowning at him " Alexander? You don't know." alexander uttered a small confused 'no'. Lafayette looked at the cuddling duo and back to alexander's confused eyes " They're dating…..mon ami"

Alexander felt his heart shatter " you're lying….right?" lafayette looked at alexander, confused why wasn't he happy for his friends."what's wrong,alexander?" looking to his eyes lafayette finally understood, eyes widening " you love him don't you? Laurens that is."
Alexander slowly nodded. Lafayette couldn't help but to feel pity for his friend , his hands intertwined with his friend's shaking hands " let's leave okay mon ami?" lafayette looked at herc and laurens , smiling " guys i believe alexander and i should leave….it's getting a bit late" laurens looked at him in concern " why? It's 5 " lafayette smiled sadly at the freckled man " alexander is a bit overwhelmed with work and is very tired and on top of that he is still getting used to you two not living with us" lafayette glanced a alexander who was already up and getting his stuff " right alexander?" seeing the small man nod. laurens frowned " oh….it's okay you guys can leave anytime" laurens smiled brightly to hercules " right, herc?" hercules nodded smiling at lafayette .
Lafayette smiled at the duo,gathering his stuff. He follows alexander to the exit. When they both left the small cafe , alexander broke down to a mess of sobs in an empty alley. Dropping his stuff lafayette hugged alexander tightly, feeling sorry for his friends one- sided love.
Their they were in the middle of the empty alley ,lafayette hugging the small man as the snow dropped around them.
