Hey everyone. This story was brought to you by Herbology Hangout, Our Tangled Webs, and The Insane Prompt Challenge on Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. For Herbology Hangout I wrote for the trope of Aging up. For Our Tangled Webs I wrote for the pairing of Blaise/Ginny. For the Insane Prompt Challenge I used the Title prompt 972 Dead By Morning. I hope you all enjoy the first chapter of Dead By Morning.
It was unnoticeable at first when Ginny had started to begin aging faster. To Blaise she looked the same as she always had. With her long flowing red hair and hazel eyes. Fresh faced and clear minded. But then he noticed that something was a bit off. She seemed to be more bigger in places. Curvier.
"What are you looking at?" Ginny asked raising an eyebrow. "Is something wrong? If there's something crawling on me I wish you'd tell me about." She laughed and he could see slight laugh lines appear on her face.
"Nothing," Blaise told her because the change wasn't that noticeable. He'd gauge it at maybe a year or two worth of growth. It wasn't that concerning. "Maybe we should get ready for bed." Maybe, he thought, it's just your mind playing tricks on you Blaise. Your girlfriend isn't aging more since she took that spell from your father.
"Are you sure?" Ginny asked knowing the look of concern on her boyfriend's face was directed at something. "I can tell when something is wrong with you, Blaise."
Cursing himself for being that readable to her he tried to think of a way to ask her about what she was going through. "You know when my father cursed you earlier..." Blaise began trailing off not knowing how to finish his question.
"What about it?" Ginny asked her own concern growing.
"Does anything feel different to you?" he asked watching as she started to head for the stairs up to their master bedroom. "Anything strange seem to be happening?"
"What are you talking about Blaise? I feel fine. The Healers at St. Mungos checked me out. They say I'm doing fine. What do you think is happening that's got you so worried?"
Taking a deep breathe Blaise followed her up the stairs to their master bedroom. The comfortable looking room felt a little cold knowing what he knew was more than likely going on. He watched as Ginny sat down on the black and white flower patterned comforter on their bed. Sitting next to her he took her hands in his own.
"I think that was one of the new spells my father was working on for He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named before he died," Blaise told her. "He was working on so many that I know of. But I remember the exact look of the one that hit you. It was an aging spell."
Ginny started to laugh. "I'm not any older than I was earlier, Blaise. I think I'd know if I was beginning to age rapidly. Don't you?" She took her shoes off placing them under the bed. Getting up she padded across the room to her dresser pulling out a pink nightgown with bunnies all over it. "I'm find, Blaise. Let's just get changed and go to sleep."
"If you're sure," Blaise sighed walking over to his own dresser and pulling out a pair of pajamas. He knew that something was wrong with Ginny. But neither one of them was prepared for what was to await them when they woke up the next day.
I hope you all enjoyed the first chapter of Dead By Morning.
