Sky Burial
"Follow your constellation and you cannot fail to reach your glory…"
Despite those words being ingrained into his mind, Wander urged his horse onward through the desert sands. There was no glory in what he was doing. But he was following his constellation. The foes he needed to defeat were, despite not many, colossal. Wander always had to look at the future result when he was making giants bleed. Among his people, this was the greatest sin. This land had been locked away, a bridge separating it from living civilization. His horse reared slightly, ears perked attentively. They were now at a wide area of sand dunes, small remnants of buildings broken and littered throughout the landscape. The wind was strong here, blowing sand into Wander's eyes. This forbidden place was so beautiful, yet it hid such darkness. He contemplated dismounting his horse, but in this giant space, he seemed to shirk away from the thought. His horse was his only comfort in this barren landscape. The silence in the air was broken by a sudden wailing roar, startling both Wander and his horse. A giant being breached the surface of the sand like a whale, its long body spiraling upwards into the sky. It paid no mind to Wander, instead evening out its large wings and riding the air currents. Wander unsheathed his sword, eyes narrowing determinedly at the flying colossus. Kicking his horse in its sides, Wander spurred him forwards, ready to send this giant back down into the sand with fountains of black blood spewing from its back.
