Chapter 1: Pledge of the N7
"As the three hundred Spartans gave their lives at Thermopylae, for their people's freedom, so to do I give of myself for the country I call home.
I ascend beyond Rank and Duty, I ascend to join those who bore this emblem with pride, and so to, will I.
I have proven myself in the field of combat, we are not chosen but made, forged in the fire of battle, drenched in the sweat of my brow.
I am not above the law, I am the law, answerable only to the rightful ruler of my land, the law is my weapon and shield.
Now I am N7, I am elite, the perfect solder."

Pledge of N7: A pledge said by those who have finished the seventh year of N school, a bond that cannot be broken.
N school: When a soldier wishes for more than glory, they apply for N school, there are seven years. Each is progressively harder. The first level has claimed so many lives, that it is a great achievement to pass the first year. Each year will earn the applicant more respect among their ordinary soldiers. Student may drop out at any time. Only when the seventh year is finished, can a student be called N7 and wear the badge of N7 at all times. The final test is a 12 mile hike through a uninhabited planet, though the animal there are much like those of Tuchunka, the student is alone, with limited oxygen, sparse thermal clips, and a time limit. Students may meet up if they so wish, however, they will start alone, after 24 hours of the first person reaching the objective, the mission will be over, all who have not reached the objective will have failed, and will have to take the entire year from the start, if they do not drop out. The most famous Graduate is Commander Shepard, Alongside Admiral Anderson.
