See You Sleeping… (Singing So Sweetly)

Candy leaned against Malingo's chest as the boat rocked. Curled up in his lap, she slept peacefully. Malingo's legs had fallen asleep about ten minutes ago, but she was sleeping so peacefully that he didn't want to move. She had already had that bad dream her world, Chickentown. The night on the sea of Isabel was cool but not cold. It was humid though, but it kept them warm as the pass through what looked like 4 in the morning, though it could have been 5.

The orange gashrat brushed the long dark hair out of his lady's face. She snuggled in closer to stay warm. He wrapped his arms in tighter so her soul wouldn't float pass him into the night. Gashrats believe that when a person falls asleep their soul floats to the otherworld, that is, unless there is another sleeping with them. Then it is believed that the two souls dance together and blend into one or fight. If a couple had nightmares on wedding night, then it was deemed that they should divorce.

Malingo cradled Candy closer to him. He couldn't fall asleep. Candy's nightmare had happened before he started to doze. And for the sake of his own heart he didn't want to find that they couldn't blend.

Instead he started to sing. He sung a sailor's love ballad to the sea and his lady.

Isabel and Isabe

How I would die for both of the

Thou art the ones that shall rule me

Both setting the free

Great mother, Isabel

What secrets do you tell

How many lovers have fell

And drowned into your great swell

Isabe, my lovely wife

Who stays with me through every strife

My mate for all my life

Till the death keeper plays his fife

Isabel and Isabe

How I would die for both of the

Thou art the ones that shall rule me

Both setting the free

For the longest time he sat there with Candy in his arms singing different Abaratian ballads. The boat soon floated though into brighter waters. With the sunlight Candy open her eyes.

"I- I dreamed of an angel Malingo. An angel wing wings of bright orange A singing angel… singing so sweetly... so sweet…" She closed her eyes again and the couple were swept into the tides of Isabel once more.
