A/N: Hey guys! Welcome to my first fanfiction. I'm super excited to be writing one, and I hope you guys will enjoy it! Constructive Criticism appreciated. :]

Lucina fell back onto the couch and held her head in her hands, silently weeping. "You said we would be staying here for a long time!" Chrom hated having to give his daughter news like this, but duty calls, as they say. And they had to move again.

"I know it's only been 6 months Lucina, but we should be able to stay at our next home for quite a while." Chrom tried to console her, but he didn't seem to be helping the situation at all.

"That's what you said about this time Dad!" Lucina was furious. Here she was, thinking they would last, maybe, just a YEAR in one place. She was let down, once again. Right as she was starting to make friends too.

"You love the water right? You might be happy about the next place we're going." Chrom said, trying to remain as calm and composed as possible, which was hard, due to his daughter quietly sobbing in front of him. She started to sniffle; as she looked up, her eyes bore into her father.

"Fine, where are we going this time?"

"It's a place called Edgewater, Washington. It's right near the Puget Sound, and it's a very nice and safe community." He put his hands on her shoulders and kneels down to look at her directly. "I promise no matter what, we will be living there for a long time, no matter when or where my work wants to send me."

"Are you sure you can fulfill that promise Dad?" Lucina said, a little bit of hope clearly seen in her eyes.

"From now on, I'm putting family before work. So, that is a definite yes." Lucina jumped up from the couch and hugged her Dad tight. 'Hopefully, he won't mess something like this up, again.'

Lucina almost dove out of the U-Haul. She was never going to volunteer to ride with him EVER again. Over the 10 hours, she had tried to bring up the fact he was dreadfully off-tune, but he just shrugged her comment aside and kept singing along with the various anime themes he had burned onto a CD. It wasn't just punishment, it was pure torture.

"You looked anxious to get out of the truck." Chrom said with a hint off amusement in his voice, "Anything wrong?"

"You know exactly what is wrong, and I will be heading up to my new room, you can deal with the unpacking." Lucina shot back, feeling no remorse as she ran up the cobblestones to get into the house. It was very spacious, and she could already anticipate the amazing parties capable in this house. As if Chrom would ever let that happen.

It was an extravagant house, and much bigger than she and her father would ever need.

'Maybe he does intend for me to have parties, hm.' She thought.

The house was about 2500 square feet. It was coffee-brown with white detailing. It had 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and was only 1 story. Her room was about as big as some of the apartments she and Chrom had stayed in, which put her in a stage of shock. This house was big, and primarily living in apartments or condos for her whole life, it made it seem even larger. Ignoring all of that, she dropped down on her bed, for a much needed nap.

*BEEP BEEP BEEP*

Lucina snapped awake, and slammed on the alarm. She looked over to the clock, and saw that she was up an hour later then she should have been. Frantically, she took a shower, got dressed, and had everything ready in 15 minutes. She grabbed a bagel from the counter as she ran out the door. Panting, she flopped into an open seat on the bus. She looked out the window as the bus went through the neighborhood. As she sat eating and looking outside, she noticed she was the first stop, and currently the only person on the bus. She shrugged off any confusion, and went back to sleep for a few more minutes…

She was jolted awake by a hand on her shoulder.

"Hey kid, you're here at the school." The aging bus driver told her. He seemed nice enough, but his eyes told another story. She could tell he was really annoyed. Uttering a quick apology, she picked up her backpack and ran off the bus. She had to find the main office and get her schedule before first period.

"Man, I forgot how annoying moving in the middle of a school year is." Lucina grumbled to herself. She found the office and took the schedule from the secretary without saying a word. She hated school secretaries. They always thought they were helping, but news flash, they are useless. In all her time, she had NEVER found a useful secretary, school or not.

She walked out and looked over her schedule. "PE first period, well isn't this day just getting better?" She found her way into the locker room, and got changed. She was not dealing with the stress well, and PE was bound to make it worse.

'Ah well, everything can't be perfect, I'll make with what I have." She thought, as she wandered into the gym.

Next period was her Bio class, and it was nowhere to be found. She was in the B-Wing, and she has passed B-221, and had seen B-223. But for some unknown reason, there was no B-222 in between, which was where her class was supposed to be. Lucina had had a lot of terrible first days, but this one took the cake. She woke up late, had Gym first period, and then her second period didn't seem to exist. Fuming, she walked outside to blow off some steam.

She immediately saw a large oak tree in the middle of the courtyard, and wandered towards it. Before sitting down, she noticed a small sign hanging off one of the branches.

"Darun. RIP in pieces. 2016-2015. Lived a gr8 life – IGN (Edgewater High Game Club)"

With a new air of confusion, she leaned against "Darun" and noticed someone walking towards her.

"You're in my spot. I would highly suggest moving." The unknown student said annoyed. Scoffing at him, Lucina stayed right where she was.

"Fine, be that way. What brings you out here anyways? Passing time is almost over." He almost growled, then immediately changed voices. "Sorry, I shouldn't be acting this rude. My name's Cody, you?" He extended a hand, and she took it.

"Lucina. I can't seem to find B-222, you got any idea where it is?" She said while looking him over. He was wearing a grey jacket, jeans, and sneakers. He looked pretty average, except for his hair. It was a dull orange, definitely unique; she hadn't seen anyone else with that color at Edgewater yet. She was surprised at how he was able to change his voice like he did. He might be an interesting person to get to know.

"Got no idea. Hey, I've never seen you before, you new around here?" Cody asked, while doing the same thing Lucina had done to him. Her long blue hair cascaded around her shoulders, complimenting her dark blue sweatshirt, and her black jeans. She seemed to really like the darker colors. 'Wonder if she dyes her hair that color? There's no way that can be natural right…?' He thought to himself.

"Yeah, today's my first day. Super annoying, I can tell this is going to be hard already." She complained. Cody smirked; he knew how he felt his first day. She was going through the same thing.

"Trust me, it gets better. If you have the right teachers, you are going to have a great time. Speaking of which, who do you have?" He thought of his own schedule, and made notes as to his opinions. She fumbled around in her jeans trying to grab her schedule. Finally she pulled it out, and smoothed out some of the wrinkles.

"Well, I have Lifetime Sports first with Anderson. Then I have Bio with Jorgenson. World History with Crosby, English 2 with Schweitzer, Algebra 2 Trig with Vess, and Finally, Spanish 2 with Fitzgerald." Cody stared at her in disbelief. Somehow, they had managed to get 3rd through 6th together. Geez, what a coincidence.

"Wow Lucina, we have all the same classes, besides the first 2. Guess we'll be seeing each other a lot." He grinned, "Not like I mind. You seem really nice. Anyways, what do you like to do for fun?" She seemed a bit taken aback by that.

"Well, I'm kind of a nerd. I really love to play video games, specifically JRPG's, and read. I just picked up Final Fantasy X for my PS2, super excited for that." Cody gawked. A girl that liked video games? Those were pretty rare in Edgewater, there was only 1 or 2 in the Game Club, compared to about 20 guys. It would be nice to have a new addition to the select few who appreciate video games. Yeah, he definitely was happy they had the same classes. Very happy. Right as he was about to ask about where she came from, he saw Bryce walk up from the corner of his eye. With his signature blue striped jacket, he was hard to miss.

"Hey Cody, what you doin' out during 2nd period? You know what happened last time Principal Freeman caught you skipping, you don't want another week suspension do you? You have quite a few under your belt already; it looks terrible on your record." Bryce truly did care for his friend, even if he rarely listened to him. As Bryce was trying to usher Cody back into the building, he noticed Lucina. Hesitantly, he introduced himself, confused about the new girl.

"Hey, I'm Bryce." He put his hand out, shooting a questioning look at Cody, but when Cody just shrugged, he sighed. "Seriously Cody, you should get to class, you too…"

"Lucina" she replied.

"Yeah, Lucina. How come you aren't in class anyways?"

"I have no idea where B-222 is, does it even exist?"

"No actually, its B-223 now, they switched the numbers for no reason."

"Oh come on!" She threw her schedule down, but soon picked it up and ran back into the building with Cody and Bryce following. She had yet to determine whether this was going to be a good school or not.

'Guess we'll just have to wait and see!' She smirked, and thought of all the possibilities.
