Hart to Hart
Patience Hart
Summary: Jennifer waits for Jonathan to come around after someone slipped something in his flask. (Based around S5Ep7 Passing Chance)
The sun glistens down over the wonderful country of Greece. The wind tickled across various trees as the sun reflected off the Parthenon.
Along the dusty trails high within the hills, Jennifer Hart sat with her husband's head laying in her lap. While other race cars zoomed on down the road Jennifer didn't pay them any attention for her eyes remained on her husband hoping he would wake up soon.
Wiping the sweat from her brow Jennifer still refused to move. While her mouth grew dry her eyes turned to their water flasks. Earlier she had caught the whiff of a strange odor coming from her husband's flask. She feared whatever drug that was in it was also in hers as well.
As the sun remained up high in the clear blue sky, Jennifer had a tough decision to make. Either tempt fate with her water flask or endure the heat.
A long sigh escaped Jennifer's lips as she pulled her flask over and twisted off the cap. A smile tugged at the corner of her lips when she held it up to her nose there was no odor of any kind. Which meant to her it was safe to drink.
Staring at the flask Jennifer found herself licking her lips as her body urged her to take a sip. But she knew better her sense of control wasn't that strong and she would end up drinking it all. Plus she knew her husband needed this more than she did.
So she held it up to Jonathan's mouth and she felt him shift a little in her lap as a mumble escaped his lips.
"I know darling but I need you to drink this." Jennifer said calmly.
After a few more mumbles Jonathan responded by gulping down some of the water. Soon the flask was empty and the moment she was waiting for came to pass. She finally got to see those baby blue eyes again.
"Darling…what happen?" Jonathan asked still bit groggery.
"Well it seems someone slipped some kind of drug into your flask. You've been out for hours." Jennifer explained.
Soon a grunt escaped Jonathan's lips as he made an attempt to stand up. Jennifer helped him keep his balance.
"How about you let me drive?" Jennifer suggested.
"Good idea." Jonathan replied.
After helping her husband into the passenger seat Jennifer walked around the front of her car. Her eyes narrowed when she spotted another car from the race sitting at the bottom of the hill. The moment she hopped into the driver's seat the car zoomed off.
With their seat belts buckled Jennifer shifted the gears and within seconds they were zooming down the road.
Someone was out to stop them, but for now she was glad her husband was alive and well. It paid off being patience and she had no doubt that if she waited a bit more this would all be taken care of. For its true what they say patience is a virtue.
