Rarity prided herself on not swooning over every stallion that tried to woo her. After all, she was a lady.

It did grow a bit lonely, though. The mare didn't think of it when she was younger, but now, as her and her friends grew older and older, it was obvious.

Stallions would woo her, constantly, but something in the back of Rarity's mind screamed no. So she obeyed it.

There was someone she did notice grow up. Then again, a dragon in Ponyville was easy to spot. Even if he wasn't as huge as most dragons his age. He was still lean, strong, kind. And Rarity (and she was sure every other pony) would have him no other way.

He was exotic, so to speak. Scales of amethyst and emerald, eyes of gold. He was one treasure.

His crush on her was cute, as a baby. But now, Rarity took a small note of it. And found herself waiting in anticipation of what he would do. Sing to her, give her flowers, and help her in any way. It was charming.

He never gave up hope, and Rarity did know it was wrong of her, to lead him on. But the voice that usually screams no was whispering to wait. So she did.

And now, she was a grown mare. With fur of beautiful ivory and gorgeous hair. And he...he was a kind and handsome dragon. It was odd, seeing him and suddenly seeing...him. A spark, a small note and a small belle and he looked at her. He smiled, looking bashful for one of his kind, and asked if she wanted help.

She was scared. A pony and a dragon. It was unheard. But he was matured. They both were. He was the only male of anything to make her knees weak, that could make her blush daily, and that could be charming.

She asked her friends, begging them to keep it a secret. She was so scared, she ended up crying, so unsure. She had gotten support, but she was still worried. Of being judged or seen as a lowlife. Would her parents accept? Her sister? Would Celestia even allow it?

She would wait. Just to see. Calm down.

"I love you."

It wasn't the first time she heard it. But it was the first time she paused and looked at him. She watched as his purple scales became crimson and he looked away. She opened her mouth, only to close it.

She took a small step, slowly leaning onto him. He looked at her, confused. He then became a tomato as she kissed his cheek. "I..."

She looked away, leaning away. She looked at him, whose eyes were staring intently. She stood on her toes and in a blast of courage, kissed a dragon.

Kissed a kind dragon.

Kissed Spike.

"I love you, too."
