Hello
It's been MONTHS since I updated. Are you all happy I did?
Disclaimer: HP does not belong to me no matter how much I wished it is. They all belong J.K. Rowling
Hermione didn't know whether or not she should feel offended. Her Hogwarts schoolmates were practically GAPING at her. She decided to feel pleased at their reactions, feeling a vindictive pleasure at seeing Cho Chang glaring at her with undisguised envy as she saw who was currently decorating the arm of the Boy-Who-Lived.
She was amused (and rather pleased) at the reaction of Harry when he saw her. Her. HERMIONE GRANGER. Managed to make THE Harry Potter, wide-eyed, befuddled, and COMPLETELY dumbstruck.
She had her hair (which was sleek and shiny) into a knot at her head, giving her a slightly... Princess-like appearance. She was wearing minimal make-up, but ONLY because Lavender and Parvati had practically forced her into it. She was wearing periwinkle-blue robes and HEELS. Bloody heels. "At least it was just for one night" she thought.
It did not comfort her in the slightest.
Harry looked very handsome, in robes of bottle-green that matched his eyes perfectly. And she noticed that most of the girls that had passed on the way to the Great Hall were giving her jealous looks before winking at Harry and giggling.
It annoyed her to no end.
Cedric had taken a step backward, wide-eyed, before giving her a gentle smile, glaring at Cho's obvious surprise, while Krum had appeared leading a giggling Lavender by her arm. He looked at Hermione with a kind of whimsical, hopeful, puppy-look before shooting Harry a dirty look and stomping off like a child who didn't get the thing he wanted for Christmas.
"I'm sorry if I step on your toes, Hermione." Harry said, sighing slightly "I'm lousy at dancing"
"Harry-" Hermione reprimanded "You're taking this way too seriously"
"Just.. Have fun, I suppose. We could sit down after"
"No, no" Harry said, shaking his head "I'll survive the night, if only for you-..."
"My Only" He finished with a full-blown smirk
Hermione glared at him slightly. Though it was rather sweet how he called her that, it broke her heart a little to know that he was just joking.
He was staring at Cho with the air of a puppy who lost its owner. Or a child who lost his puppy, and she sighed slightly in bitterness, biting her lip.
Spending time with Harry made her fall in love with him a little bit more each day, something she has been denying to herself every second of every minute of every hour of every day.
"Come on, Harry" She gently guided him through the large oak doors and gasped as she saw the Great Hall.
Magical. That was the first word that came through her mind. From the sparkling ice sculptures to the 'fake' snow . That was the only word she could use to describe everything she could see.
She gently grasped Harry's hand in her own, and led him to dance. She was blushing, she knew, at the intimate contact she is currently in with Harry, but she could bluff and say that it was because of the cold.
But it wasn't. And it seemed Harry knew that, when he asked her why she was so red. Because the next thing she knew, his face was only millimeters away from hers. She could smell a musky... Harry-like scent. That was so unique that she KNEW it was him.
And before the thought "He's going to kiss me!" shot through her brain...
He did.
Yes. No idiot!Ron. Just like how we all wanted.
