A/N: Wow, okay, my first post on my new account and it's poetry! First off, this is freeverse poetry, so while there is some repetition (and what I hope is rhythm), there isn't any intentional rhyming. This is also my first time doing freeverse poetry outside of school and my first time doing anything with Young Justice, so constructive criticism is appreciated but please don't flame.
There's a scream,
and a thud,
and a broken rope,
and a boy on his knees,
crying for his mama.
There's a man,
in the crowd,
seeing another day,
from years before,
and another little boy,
crying for his mama.
And at that moment,
the man swears,
the boy will not
turn out like him.
He pays for the funeral,
he takes the boy in.
He gives the boy a home,
family, friends.
He swears he'll protect him,
from monsters and nightmares.
And the boy trusts him,
more than ever.
They become a team,
the Bat and his Bird,
guardian and ward,
father and son.
Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson,
one in the same.
